  1. Ugh, I hate my brain. Cass is in a bit of a bad mood. So suddenly my mind decides that she wants me to kill myself and that I should grab one of the big knives and slice myself open. ...WELP good thing the psychologist is tomorrow.

    1. @coffeecream well... umm... good for you!

    2. @coffeecream That is actually far better than your brain teling you to OD or something like that, because you would probably end up only with a minor wound even if you attempted to. Slicing oneself open requires outrageous amounts of conviction. An average person's hand would start shaking before touching the skin with the blade, and drop the knife after feeling the sting. So as bad as it sounds, thankfully, you're safe.

      2. @nerthos I've never taken anything other than prescription stuff, anti-depressants/anti-psychotics. My family doesn't own weapons, though I'm sure if they /really/ wanted to kill me they could get creative. I'm sure there are probably hundreds of ways that I could still die here but I'd have to jump from a height or use the knives or go get run over by a car OH or the train.

        1. @coffeecream Calm down man. Nobody is trying to kill you. You're not likely to die within the next 50 years. Take a break. Find something to distract yourself. A video of humor or something that would make you think of literally nothing for half an hour or so.

        2. I've considered the likelihood of being killed. I think my chances are higher than the average joe, but I also know that as long as I continue to keep my nose clean I'll be fine.

            1. I suspect I'll die either a tragic or a heroic death. I'd prefer to die a peaceful death.

Monday, 29-Jul-13 08:26:42 UTC from web
              1. @pony All death is inherently tragic

Monday, 29-Jul-13 08:43:57 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                1. @ceruleansquawk That is the natural assumption about death, certainly. Whether or not there's an afterlife is the real determining factor I think.

Monday, 29-Jul-13 08:46:57 UTC from web
                  1. @pony and of course the nature of said afterlife..

                  2. @pony Even if there is an afterlife, death is still tragic. The loss of the person, and their lost opportunity to experience all the things the universe has to offer.

Monday, 29-Jul-13 08:50:47 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                    1. @ceruleansquawk yes it is tragic and hurts others so much they want to die themselves!

Monday, 29-Jul-13 08:51:56 UTC from web
                    2. @ceruleansquawk Wouldn't resurrection rectify that?

                      1. @pony Wait, your religion has that?

Monday, 29-Jul-13 08:54:44 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                        1. @ceruleansquawk @dragoness Resurrection and also sealing ordinances for eternal families. The idea is that in order to be saved we need to repent, etc. The etc. part includes being sealed to our ancestors back through Adam and Eve. Consequently we view death as only a temporary parting from our loved ones including our non-related friends.

                              1. @ceruleansquawk Who wouldn't want the option to preserve family bonds? As for resurrection, it's something out of my control.
