why do these things never happen to me? http://9gag.com/gag/axNzAqY
-
@mushi Oh that would be pretty cool as a pet.
-
@awlderpy Ooh, that avatar!
-
@mushi I'm suprised he hasn't stomped it yet
-
@yodelerty She wants to make humans, Dane. (if I may call you that)
-
@awlderpy Oh dear. (And you may)
-
@yodelerty Good! If you wish you may call me Will. Apparently this avatar is work done for a tumblr blog, humanmakerlyra.
-
@awlderpy That sounds chilling. I bet it's via alchemy.
-
@yodelerty Oh, reading through it a little and I'm getting a different feeling. This may be my favourite Lyra now.
-
@awlderpy I may have to look it up. I'm not following nearly enough ask blogs.
-
@yodelerty I think it's supposed to be grimdark but I find it cute.
-
@awlderpy I can tell from your avatar. Very nice.
-
@yodelerty Yeah, I had just thought to check it out and realised hey, I do have a tumblr after all.
-
@awlderpy Yeah, one that I follow. :P
-
@yodelerty Oh yeah! I was trying to follow like everyone here and use it as a means of writing practises. I should get on that.
-
@awlderpy Couldn't hurt. Writing's good for the imagination.
-
@yodelerty I have found it to be, when I could sit down and clear my head enough to give a go.
-
@awlderpy A clear head usually helps. Though it's so difficult to achieve that state of mind.
-
@yodelerty For how much I've been awake as of late, surprisingly so. Silly things get stuck in your head and they just won't leave to save your life.
-
@awlderpy Oh boy do I ever know that feeling. Thoughts swimming around in my mind are the reason I've been so stressed and on-edge lately.
-
@yodelerty That's pretty much what's been depriving me of sleep. Things going on don't help much but that really isn't anyone's problem in the end but mine.
-
@awlderpy You tried anything like meditation to help you sleep?
-
@yodelerty I have the last two nights and I managed to sleep last night, for a few hours, before waking up gasping for breath.
-
@awlderpy Oh dear. I wonder if there's a medical issue at play.
-
@yodelerty I might have to save up for a sleep specialist one day if I could.
-
@awlderpy being out of breath sounds like an anxiety attack to me, at least it sounds like the ones I have.
-
@awlderpy Might be a good idea. I'd check around on medical forums online as well. It won't be as effective but it'll provide you with free advice anyway.
-
@flamingpandaomg During sleep though? I had read a bit about apnea. It seems somewhat fitting but it isn't supposed to wake you up.
-
@awlderpy Sleep apnea can wake you up easily. My dad has it and it wakes him up all the time.
-
@yodelerty I had read a bit on sleeping conditions and it has at least served as a template but self-diagnosis doesn't help much to get what medications one needs. I'll be getting medical insurance soon, so that may help costs a bit.
-
@flamingpandaomg Oh boy. I've had the problem before but it comes and goes.
-
@awlderpy as far as I know it doesn't have to be a common occurrence.
-
@awlderpy Medical insurance is good. Recently being ineligible for my parent's insurance, I'm not a fan of paying for anti-depressants or any medication. Hopefully you can get the money soon.
-
@yodelerty I hope you can find a way to get your medications as well, man. As long as they help.
-
@awlderpy I'm not really sure anymore, to be honest.
-
@yodelerty I felt the same way about the Lithobid so I stopped taking it. Although now I'm less prone to violent mood swings I don't feel completely in control.
-
@awlderpy I might make a doctor's appointment for next month when my refills run out to reevaluate my situation with him.
-
@yodelerty That would help find something else hopefully, if what you have now isn't working any more. At least you're not buggering off with doctors altogether either.
-
@awlderpy I've thought about doing that but it was probably just depressive rage convincing me it was a good idea.
-
@yodelerty Yes it was, as I'd been down that road once, closer to Brendon's age. It only makes things worse, of course you knew that already.
-
@awlderpy Of course. Doctors are one of the few people who can help in these cases. Them and the individual suffering.
-
@vt3c Well yes, I have a lot more perspective now than I did then. Generally, I'm a lot less stupid a person than I was.
-
@yodelerty Individual suffering gets no where but worse, and fast.
-
@awlderpy That's true. And even though you've said you've made bad choices involving yourself, the fact that you're improving your situation really makes me want to listen to you. So I do.
-
@vt3c Not a good idea to do that. Let the past slide.
-
@yodelerty Well sometimes it seems I serve a purpose by setting an example of what not to do but as long as it helps others, it's ok. What matters is survival, after all.
-
@vt3c I've been cracking smiles all day. I feel pretty good right now. Obviously I have you guys to thank for it.
-
@vt3c That's better, try to keep your mind seeing it that way.
-
@awlderpy It's really living that's important. Not just surviving.
-
@yodelerty That's a good way to put it, actually. Surviving doesn't mean you're living the way your gods intended you to. Living is the only way to ever be happy in life.
-
@vt3c After being saved a few times from certain death I know better than to completely mistrust doctors; although being told I'll never run again makes me not completely trust them either.
-
@awlderpy Exactly. I'm glad I was able to learn that. It's a struggle but I know I can do it.
-
@yodelerty Now that's what I like to hear, Dane! Glad to see you saying something positive again, really really glad!
-
@awlderpy Thanks a ton, man. Of course I still have relationships I need to repair after my depression broke some of them. That will come in due time though. As long as I keep this attitude.
-
@vt3c I was told that if I exerted my left side at all for half a year at least, I'd tear out my stitches and bleed to death. They were flat out wrong as I went back in the field within the week.
-
@yodelerty That's right, mending relationships takes time and care, and as long as you're patient it'll all pan out. Yes keep that attitude as long as you can, don't quite strangle it but don't let it go.
-
@vt3c The field was the only time in life I was truly truly happy. More so when I was away from base or camp, so it wasn't bad days. I still thought I knew better than anypony else though.
-
@yodelerty It'll get exponentially better with time. As long as you keep fixing things you'll see yourself in better and better situations.
-
@awlderpy Hopefully I'll be able to be more patient now. With the help of all you guys anyway. I know I've said I want to leave but.. I really don't know where I'd be without you guys.
-
@nerthos That's what I'm hoping for.
-
@vt3c I couldn't tell you. I suppose the threat of death isn't prominent as it was there (may or may not be true anymore) but too many variables.
-
@yodelerty You said those things in a bad state of mind, you can be and are forgiven for those. We do what we can to help eachother because well, many of us have the same things going on in our heads and we can empathise. I'm finding it much easier to care about all of you guys.
-
@vt3c Well it was in Chechenya during wartime so.
-
@vt3c Beh. I'm not all concerned about safety.
