  1. @derpy128 I get the whole hating country thing, but the situation you just described sounds like pure, unadulterated fun.

  2. @derpy128 Not true at all, this implies Year Zero doesn't exist

  3. @derpy128 I used to be pretty big on stoner-rock. Kyuss was a mainstay.

  5. @derpy128 It would much harder to break up my tastes, I've listened to a lot of music from every major decade so there's stuff from everywhere in there.

  8. @derpy128 That being said all their best stuff was for sure in the 60s and 70s

  9. @derpy128 It wasn't Momentary Lapse of Reason bad, I liked a few tracks off of Division Bell. It honestly could've been a lot worse too.

  11. @derpy128 True. They should've let it die with The Division Bell, that record was at least decent.

  12. @derpy128 I can't even listen to them very often because they ruin my brain with their depth. Especially on the Dark Side of the Moon album. It reminds me of that Venture Bros. episode.

  13. @derpy128 Pink Floyd is the stuff of legend.

  14. @derpy128 When Pink Floyd were good, they were REALLY good, but when they weren't it was awfully boring. That being said, I do quite enjoy a handful of their records.

  15. @derpy128 Oh yeah, I thought that was record was pretty good when I first heard it but by around the fourth or fifth time I was just absolutely head over heels in love with the record.

  18. @derpy128 I've listened to RTJ2 a lot since it came out (actually, even since before that as there was a leak a little bit before the official release). Repeated listens defitnitely yield positive results, I really love it.

  20. @derpy128 I also love that one line in Close Your Eyes where Zach from RATM says "I'm miles ahead of you, you can sip my appleses brew" because it's a really witty double nod to Miles Davis.

  22. @derpy128 The song Run the Jewels is from their first record though?

Sunday, 28-Dec-14 18:25:46 UTC from MuSTArDroid in context
  23. @derpy128 There's a lot of awful crap in every genre to be honest. You just have to have a willingness to explore if you want to expand your horizons.

  24. @derpy128 The title track? Like from their first record?

  25. @derpy128 I don't doubt that their message is important. It's just not important on a level that I personally care about as an artist. In my mind, everyone is already equal and I'm not one to fight for social justice because that never ends well on a legal standpoint, especially in the American judicial system. I have nothing to say about inequality or special treatment, probably because that's not been an important aspect of my life - for the most part.

  26. @derpy128 Well, I mean hip hop songs aren't just political, they can be about a wide array of topics. A lot of hip-hop focuses on more interal issues of the speaker, and there's a whole bunch of abstract hip hop artists who write a bunch of stream of consciousness type stuff. Some guys just write bragadocious stuff too, which is great too as long as you're in the mood for it.

  27. @derpy128 It's funny because Zach from RATM was on one of the tracks in RTJ2

Sunday, 28-Dec-14 18:12:07 UTC from MuSTArDroid in context
  28. @derpy128 Yeah, Killer Mike has never been afraid to touch on strong social issues and I'm really glad him and El-P wrote Early. I know in one interview he mentioned how he felt it was important to speak up about issues, especially those involving his race, because he was a figure in the public eye.

  29. @derpy128 Run the Jewels are so bananasing hype, I love both of their albums a lot. I almost game RTJ2 my rap album of the year but ended up awarding it to the new clipping record since that was the most unique rap record I'd heard all year. Still, Run the Jewels are sick as grapes, El-P is one of my favourite producers of all time.
