@dangaertner7 well it's more about friends getting together than a specific event I think. Artists come to show off and sell their works, we have dances at some of them. live DJ's, strobe lights, that sort of thing. It's pretty fun

@elind85 I'm active on RDN at the time as its easy to connect to via my Android, apart from here I don't chat anywere else to be honest. I don't spread out these days, been around to many places just trying to settle down :3

mr dragon i'm pretty pleased with identicurse so far. It updates the feed instantaniously, unlike the website which takes a long moment to refresh. Only thing is it runs in a unix terminal so you have to be able to deal with that lol

@mrdragon I don't know how many exactly, it's really hard to know for sure because in the beginning user email addresses weren't being logged so there was no record of how many users. At first bronycon Cabal and I talked a lot about RDN and he told me that he thought there were around 4000 active users. There may be tons more that are inactive or duplicates

@elind85 yeah, I'd say plenty of duplication accounts as well. Of we are going for fully active posting around at least every two days I'd say 200 ish users to be honest, from every day sighting on here. As for active weekly maybe 500. But for total accounts 4000 sounds around a decently accurate number.

@mrdragon and since there's around 4000 users it would be a huge cost. Also, it is a huge pain to re-install thie software so unless there was some really necessary reason to switch we probably wouldn't bother changing anything. I wish there was more security features. I will ask Purple though about IP blocking. We still live together so I talk to her all the time. Most of our time lately though has been used up by bronycon

@elind85 I thought we had around 7000 users? But yes, I agree far to much to pay, I'd not do it. It would be nice for a littlw more security. Now that we are so big, its not a uncommon site for to see troublesome ponies.

@mrdragon well this is the free verson of status net. The "full" version costs $3/user/month and I assume that would have more features. That would be an astrinomical cost for us to pay, and we want this service to remain free for all users

@mrdragon i beleive we have an email confirmation thing set up so we could track duplicate accounts, but that would only work if they used the same email address, its extremely difficult to verify identities with status net

@elind85 yes, you'd of thought for such a commercial software package it would be a little more secure to be honest with you. The only way I could truly think of stopping the issue would be a ip block, as well as a email block. That's to much of a pain to do by hoof every time though, unless there was a way to create software to do it for us, but even then to much work for such a trivial matter.

@mrdragon if you could give me more specifcs about these "loopholes" that would help. Tinker is sort of consumed with bronycon business nowadays, Status net is extremely limited in how much we can edit, it's kind of a pre-made package

@elind85 well we have a problem I've tried to get in touch with tinker about. We need a way to block a user from just making another account after we silence them. Can it be done? Also @ceruleanspark knows of some loopholes ponies are using to get around silences and such, not sure on the specifics. And unsure on the fixability of it, I understand statusnet is highly bugged and a pain to work with.

@cabal What ever it is, that program their kids told them to run instead of running the Internet when they connect on American Online. (Sorry, I hear this from my parents all the time, too. Sad testament to the level of computer expertise in my family to think that I somehow wound up the family "computer person".)

Looks like it's possible that the site problems were due to us exceeding the daily quota for the geolocation service we used. Or a DoS attack. Or both! 9.6

@colfax I disabled the geolocation plugin for now. Let's see if it helps. If so, I can probably implement a local geolocation proxy. That'd cut down on the number of requests we send.
