@northernnarwhal It's really more like, a TV show or something you really like sparks an interest in something that develops into a career. Like, you don't become a surgeon because you like Scrubs, or a chemist because you like Breaking Bad, you become a surgeon/chemist because Scrubs/Breaking Bad instigates an interest in medicine/chemistry that eventually evolves into a full time passion

My friend was in the hospital a while ago and had to have surgery and the surgery saved his life. When he talked to the surgeon, he asked my the surgeon decided to be a surgeon, and he said it was because he watched Scrubs.
