Don't get me wrong, @thediamonddogs did a good first try. But if they or !rbdnpodcast want to be taken seriously (And get on iTunes), you have to drop skype and record in person. Hell, need a good soundbooth? The best one is just sitting inside a car, honestly. Scary but true.

@roygbiv Just to tell you several professional podcasts use skype to record for the same reason we do. They are international, currently we have one host from the UK one from Canada and one from California.

I hope that !rbdnpodcast sounds better than the Diamond Dogs podcast. You can NOT do a good podcast over Skype! Seriously, you need all the people in the SAME room, and you need GOOD mics, and finally you NEED girl bronies involved to not seem creepy! #QFT

@flaminglight I've always preferred the in person podcasts as they sound more professional. And I still also stand by the fact that if a brony podcast is going to LAST, they need a girl or two involved... Not just to not to seem like 'creepy guys talking about ponies', but to balance the testosterone with estrogen.

Hello everyone! We are the Diamond Dogs Podcast, a group of 3 individuals here just gathering around and talking about this wonderful television show and everything associated with it. Just as an intro, the podcast is an hour long and includes general discussion about ponies, such as latest events and the fandom in general, and is a general forum for people to listen in to. We will be recording a new podcast on saturday so keep an eye out! We will put up the link to the podcast when it goes up.

@starshine [Grim] I've never seen that before. Well, it's not like we're the only podcast in the world. We aren't competing, we do it to inform the fandom of any news and fan works. Think of it as Equestria Daily, except in audio form and with more mindless banter. So, not like Equestria Daily at all, really.

!podcast One of the big things I'm wondering: What times would everyone be available? We're probably not all in the same time zone, so that could be an issue. Also what program would we use to connect/record. Skype is an obvious option in my mind, but does anyone have any other/better ideas? (I'm in GMT -5 btw)

What kind of segments would an !rbdnpodcast have, anyway? Probably need a segment to discuss actual episodes. Whatever else goes into it should definitely be stuff that the person making the podcast would be into, but also stuff that others could connect to. Hrm. I'd personally like for a kind of humor-stuffed podcast.

@retl That is an interesting idea. However, I like to remind people that unless I say so, there is no "official" Podcasts for RBDN. But You may have a "unofficial" thing if you like.

@retl a couple of the things I was musing over: reading some fanfics, (over)analyzing episodes, music, maybe some brony interviews or something. If it gets "big", heck we might be able to con some of the show's staff into lending a couple minutes of their time to say hi :)

@starshine Hey, I didn't think of that. Fanfic readings seems like it could go somewhere considering some of the readings I've seen pop up on !eqdaily . I'm a sucker for listening to people analyze the episodes and draw connections between them, so that sounds pretty awesome. Music sounds good too. So many nice thoughts. Interviews could work, but I think some care would need to be taken to make sure the interviews stay relevant to what the listener would be interested in hearing. (unless the conversation gets really good, then that'ld be totally worth keeping in, I think. But it's probably a case-by-case thing.) !rbdnpodcast

Oh my goodness, I want in on this !rbdnpodcast so much! Purely because I think you would all find my accent ridiculously hilarious. In more constructive terms, I think perhaps a segment on a new episode, fanart of the week, what toys are cool, etc...
