Did they decide each pony should have a "Focal episode" or did it just turn out that way by coincidence? How much influence do Hasbro's commercial interests have on the shows writing?

@lilytheamazingfaintingpony It's the fact that instead of asking him meaningful questions about the show, 90% of the questions are HEY AREN'T BRONIES AWESOME. They were given an interesting opportunity to find out behind the scenes stuff about the show and they mostly wasted it on a community circleclopping session.
