@metaltao I will reiterate that the CEO of that start-up would have made things much better if he simply was more careful about keeping his conventional pistol concealed (I have been carrying for over five years, and as far as I can tell, no one has ever noticed; I even wear slightly oversized shirts to make sure the gun is concealed). That gun is only going to result in increased anxiety in a world where scores of millions of law abiding gun owners are already subject to unwarranted media scrutiny and vile attempts to restrict their access to firearms by various politicians. The dolt who recently blew part of his leg off by irresponsibly using Tannerite is bad enough as it is.

@metaltao For what that gun costs, one could get a subcompact like a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield (a 9mm variant of that gun is my secondary carry gun). The Shield is very easily concealed, it looks like a gun, and it has better capacity than that folding phone-type one (7+1/8+1 in 9mm or 6+1 or 7+1 in .40 S&W vs. the Ideal Carry's 2 rounds).

@metaltao I can see security staff or a cop minding his/her own business being a bit more jumpy at the sight of smartphones in general. I can see a bent cop who doesn't want an activist filming him/her shooting the person with a smartphone and claiming that he/she thought it was a gun. The CEO of that start up's excuse of a child seeing the gun he was carrying is fatuous, to put it mildly. He should have learned from the incident and simply worked to do a better job of concealing his gun in something like an "in the waistband" (IWB) holster.

@metaltao Twitter scaled it way down, here's the original. It's based on one of Arin's tweets. Also thanks http://pny.lv/0bhpc

@metaltao Such things were an inevitable result of multiple opportunities to nip Hitler in the bud by various leaders, many of whom would become Allied leaders during the war.

@metaltao Now that is a particular ugly Kliment Voroshilov 2 ... Also tell the photographer to lay off of the Instagram filters. Those are only good for 1 thing, and that is "babynames" for those whom have absolutely NO immagination whatsoever. "I'm gonna call my baby Lomo-Fi" *eyeball* "really ... Sutro was taken ?"

@metaltao Over here wine is more of a traditional/family drink rather than an elite thing. Of course there are some really good wines produced locally, wine expositions and all, but the big majority of people who drink it are either the cheap wine drunks, or mid-to-old people who drink it at the table with food. You know the kind that always have a cup of wine with lunch and dinner?
