@mushi Heh, that's mostly due to me being around in the fandom since its inception on /b/. Back then there weren't so many artists working on fanart of the show so even my crappy stuff got a lot of attention then. Now there are hundreds of vector artists so I'm not quite as unique these days, haha
-
@clayinthecarpet Aw, thanks :) I just wish I could still spend all my time making that stuff. The past couple years haven't allowed me to do so. :(
-
I hope you're all having a good holiday season! Looking forward to 2014?
-
@daichi Ah yes, gamers. I'm a gamer myself, but I know exactly what kind of people you mean now, heh.
-
@daichi !vabeachbronies Well, Va Beach is full of people from all over the country, due to the vicinity being the location of multiple military bases, as well as beaches where civilians from all over are drawn to as well. Unfortunately, there are always unsavory folk in both groups of people, it's inevitable. Luckily, not everyone is that way.
-
@kriptic This group has organized a few meets, and had one a couple months back, I believe. Haven't heard anything new for a while, though.
-
@rainbowcrash17 I'm not really active in the community anymore, myself. I can't speak for the other 73 people in the group, but I haven't seen too much activity on this board lately.
-
!vabeachbronies Wow, it's already been nearly two years since I put this up, and I'm amazed to see that it has 67 members! I've been away for quite a while and am happy to see that it's going stronger than ever.
-
!vabronies There are fireworks shows all throughout July at the VA Beach boardwalk. Perhaps a beach meet-up could be arranged. People could all bring some food and other beach activity stuff. Here is the schedule - http://www.visitvirginiabeach.com/visitors/articles/fireworks.aspx

!vabronies hello, this is Moongaze! It's been a while since I've been able to check in on this group, it's awesome to see that we have 41 members and multiple meet-ups have been held! If I had known about the meet at Mt. Trashmore I would have tried to make it. I'll be keeping an eye on this page more now. I'm really glad to see that others have stepped up and kept this group going in my absence, and since it seems to be working out well I'll continue to let those that have been active take the lead. :)

@zaehlas Heh, yep. That is exactly what that is. Glad you like it. ^_^
-
@zaehlas That's awesome! I am glad the first meetup went well and had a good turnout. Sucks that I was out of the country when it happened, maybe I can make the next one :D
-
@william1cx2 Hey I don't recall if I responded to you about the meet you've set up. No, you haven't gone too far at all! I have been hoping all this time that somebody could organize one since I've been too busy to do it myself. I really hope the turnout is good! I'm not really in charge or anything, I just tried to get the ball rolling and set the group up to see if anyone else was around. I'm going to be on leave and way up North during the week of the meetup so you've got the reigns on this one!
-
@miloth Yes, I probably could. I think I was going to save that until a bit later when I know I could actually put something together. I don't want to make an announcement about it and then have a big following hoping for a meet sometime soon when it's not even possible for me to organize one until sometime next year, at the earliest. I do wish someone could step up and help out with organizing it.
-
@miloth lol yeah, life has been very busy so I haven't been able to do much for the group, sadly. We've got a nice little following so maybe early next year I will try to organize a meet!
-
@william1cx2 Hello! Welcome to the group! It's cool to see a fellow fan who is in the Navy. I am still stuck in barracks at the moment as I haven't had the time to find an apartment yet. We haven't had a meet yet although it would be great to get one set up. I just haven't had the time and resources to organize on for the group yet, but I'm always looking for someone who can take the lead on setting on up!
-
@wierdplatformer Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. I'm sure there are a lot more Bronies around Virginia but this site has a fairly limited audience so I'm trying to think of the best way to get the word out. I suppose I'll let Sethisto know once I've got a solid plan and he'll make a post for it on Equestria Daily. What kind of "theme" should we go for? Obviously the first one will be a pretty small meet. I'm looking at getting out of these barracks and moving to an apartment so if it's big enough for a small group I just might do an episode marathon and order some pizzas or something for the first meet and get ideas for the next meet from whoever shows up.
-
!vabeachbronies Well, after attending the gigantic New York BroNYCon convention, I have to say that I'd love to try a smaller meetup for my second pony gathering, not to mention something that is local and not 350 miles away. If you all are interested in getting the ball rolling and trying to set one up, let me know!
-
@wierdplatformer Well there are some pretty great restaurants in Virginia Beach so I'll do some more scouting around and see if I can't find a place that would seem fitting for a group like ours and won't be too expensive.
-
@kingcarcinopony you mean my icon? Thanks Yours is interesting as well. :) Do you have a large version of it somewhere?
-
!vabeachbronies Hi there everyone! So we've got eight people in the Virginia Beach group now; that's pretty awesome, I had all but given up hope on getting this thing going. If anyone is interested in doing an actual meet then let's start a discussion about it! :)
-
@miloth I've never really used Twitter-style sites like this before, how do I go about tagging it and sending it to the group? That's what I thought I did in the first place. :P
-
@miloth I would try and organize it to best fit everyone's needs as much as possible. Actually what I am really hoping for is to have a couple people step up to help organize it since I haven't been in Virginia very long and I'm really busy with work so if there are some people with good knowledge of the area and have the time to help it would be much appreciated. I would think a meet on or near the beach and a lunch or dinner there or at one of the nearby restaurants would be pretty cool, but I have no idea what other people would want to do which is why getting input would be excellent.

@ladyfoxling Hi there! I was asked to set this group up basically to try and see how many other people there are in the area that would be interested in doing a meet (or meets) so glad to see I'm not the only one! I have no idea if there are any other bronies around here so if you know of any let them know we've got a group trying to start up! :)
