@ceruleanspark Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (sheesh that's a lot to type!) prefer to distinguish themselves from sects because the origin of our religion is not a reformation of another church nor a splinter group like many others. We consider ourselves restorationists rather than reformationists in that we received the restored truth from God through the modern prophet Joseph Smith Jr. The reformationists, we believe, were good people inspired by God to set the stage so that his true church could be re-established like it was in the days of the apostles.
