@mrconventrix My wife was telling me about a special blue light that allows parents to see and help the baby without waking them up the way normal lights would. That sounded promising to me. Other than that, getting a baby to be quiet at night works the same way as any other time of day I think. Best option I can think of is to take shifts unless, like my wife, you choose to exclusively breastfeed the baby. There's the issue of co-sleeping with the baby or not too. My wife wants to have a sidecar type bed to start out. Everything she decides is backed by research. It may not be for everypony still.
