Such a term implies there's not enough market share in videogames to support multiple different platforms, and this is a bygone relic from the days of SEGA vs Nintendo, where any given console was at serious risk of going out of business. The only people who still moan about "console wars" are the fanboys who need to feel validated for getting one console over the other.
