    @techdisk If she's really concerned about you doing well and not just interested in control she should be willing to give you more independence, but you might also be given more responsibility too, so there's that. You'd probably impress her and get her to take you more seriously if you tell her preemptively that you're willing to take more responsibility in exchange for more independence, (like doing extra chores? idk.).
