#RDNStream #s1e22 @ceruleanspark 1. l5r championship decks never are required to be posted live, so if someone wins a big tourney they don't have to give up their secrets to success. 2. l5r is probably the best example of a game balanced in a way that netdeckers quickly lose and get sifted out. There is too much strategy involved and too much of a match's victory or loss relies on player decision. Example: Some of the strongest decks are political defense decks, but are so complex to play those players's games often go to time and their matches typically end in draws or losses as a result of them slow-playing over not knowing how to play their deck. 3. I've been playing mtg for very close to 20 years and I will tell you, the cards didn't always play themselves in it like they do so much now. Most of the strategy has been removed from set design in favor of streamlining draft and the standard constructed format which moves product.
