@critialcloudkicker if you have seen stargate SG1 and the beaming tech, that renders it a moot point. its instant, so there is no dodging it if it's beamed next to the ship. i doubt the shields are going to hold up for long from what is a sun going off next to. a device like that can destroy planets and even collapse a star, so the ship is doomed.
