Trying to work out a future audio setup for LP recording. Basically - my current setup RELIES on the Turtle Beach PX21 headset, which is a USB-powered headset. This is because this specific headset has an EXTRA output specifically for chat audio (or whatever you set to go through that output, really). This allows me to listen to and capture Skype, Teamspeak, Mumble etc... entirely separate from the game. If I need to cut out the Skype talk in a particular segment of video? I can do that and still keep the game and/or my own mic. Need to tweak the volume for the game, or that one loud annoying friend? I can do that. Apply effects separately from everything. But apart from that one feature, I don't really like these headphones. I'm trying to figure out a hardware setup that will basically do the same thing (thinking +1 sound card and a line mixer or something).
