Pony (pony)'s status on Tuesday, 24-Dec-13 22:23:34 UTC

  1. @oracle @snowcone It's really hard to hear when your family member turns out to not share your core beliefs, (the things that you feel make you you). It's no reason to degrade each other at all. I just hope you understand how painful it is when somepony you love doesn't want to share something that brings you so much stability, peace, and happiness in (and supposedly after) life. You worry about them intensely. I didn't yell or anything, but when my wife said she decided she doesn't believe and won't attend church any more I didn't yell or complain. I did tell her it broke my heart, at which she laughed and I was just silent. If you know me I don't have it in me to be unkind about something like this. Still, she felt that religion was a thing used by people, especially her original family I think, to control her, and she wanted to be independent of it. It hurt me because our vows are literally based on our faith, and I trusted her when we were engaged that she was sincere about that.
