@nerthos whether a word is offensive or not is dependent on how it is interpreted. The word "gay" associates with a certain type of person, so to use it as an insult or an otherwise negative way, is common to be interpreted as offensive. The point I make is that when people use that word in this way, there are dozens of other words they could use, yet they choose that one for some reason.
