@stardust People are crap, that's for sure, but you shouldn't care about those who don't respect you, only use them. Life is all about pretending, creating a façade for every situation. Few people actually, deeply care for any particular individual, but why let them win? If you can outsmart them and get something out of their feigned interest, then do that instead of letting them dictate your life.
