EVO does bring many players together, but from what I've seen Smash is looked down upon outside of that core community, whereas something like, say, Street Fighter people are more indifferent to. Both are esports, but Smash won't be respectfully treated as an esport because of its community. And I said at least 1 fan of MLP, not 1 fan of MLP. You're again putting words in my mouth. Although MLP's community is pretty hit and miss depending on where you go and who you talk to, but that's better than nothing.
