So let me tell you all a story about the semicolon. The semicolon is a pretty introverted guy; he doesn't like to show up a whole lot. However, when he does show up, he can make sentences better. As an example, one time I was trying to connect two sentences that were fairly closely related, but still expressed complete thoughts; my buddy, the semicolon, helped me avoid unneeded sentences. The semicolon can also help out with lists of places that contain commas, like Portland, OR; Austin, TX; and Pittsburgh, PA. However, sometimes a semicolon isn't always used properly; it's our duty to keep him from showing up where he won't help. In other news, I'm rambling about nothing again; should I go to bed? It's 4 AM.
