  1. @redenchilada @zachariastargazer The point is, when you copy and paste something like that, it emails everyone who's @-tagged, it divides the message's popularity (so if it's actually *worth* being on the favorites list, it makes it difficult to get there); and when you do that, you don't get the original message's conversation context. As for attribution, it might be immediately obvious NOW, but later on, or when not looking at the public timeline, or if someone redashes it later, it'll be entirely out of context and unclear. (what I do in that sort of situation is hit reply, then delete the name and type the new content, so that it maintains that in-context link but doesn't tag someone who the message isn't being directly addressed to :)
