@cyberpotato Honestly it depends on which time and place you're talking about as far as knights. If you're talking crusades knights, they're by definition fervently church-christian and see islam as the enemy. If you're talking european wars knights, they're elite warriors with all that implies, including a disregard for serfs and loyalty to kings and houses that'd bring them to constant fights and pillaging. I think the closest to islam-tolerant knights are the Spanish reconquista ones, some of which crusaded against al-andaluz but also some were neutral to the conflict. El Cid is a great example of this, being Spain's greatest hero, remembered for fighting the moors, but also for being reasonable with them and often fighting FOR moor communities' wellbeing or under the employment of the sultan's vassals.
