    I was in a garden of a family member plucking apples half the day. We got about 30kg (66lb) off the trees. Sadly 20% of that was rotting on the trees. One tree was so bad it was shedding off almost all apples and barely any were left that were edible. The ones that fell off were rotting on the ground and had a distinct sweet fermented and alcohol-y smell.
