Today was my turn as DM for my group. I have successfully survived the stress of the first session and my group has accepted the beginning of my adventure in a unicorn world one-shot (3 sessions long in total). The plot is that a very powerful wizard was on the search for unicorns and traversed through many worlds of the multiverse. The wizard uses the blood of the unicorns and its magical properties to experiment with and graft different monsters together, i.e. a gorilla with a crow head, an octopus with a bear.... In a meta way I'll will reveal, when they personally encounter that wizard, that he is a character I played a very long time that had also that kind of premise of grafting animals together. I used a duckbunny that was used back then also in this session to telegraph that detail.
