@noir Depends how you get them. Intro packs (~$14) come with a 60-card deck and a 15-card booster pack, and are meant to be a casual starting point that you can add to later. || Event decks (~$25) come with a 60-card deck and a 15-card sideboard, and are meant to be good enough to jump straight in and play semi-competetively. || There's also the Deckbuilder's Toolkit (~$20), which comes with a mix of 225 cards plus four 15-card booster packs that you can use to build your own decks.

!calgary Speaking of M:TG and tommorow's game night: today is M13 launch day. I just picked up my fat pack, and I'm going to bring it, unopened, to see if anyone's interested in playing draft. Would be cool if someone else brought (or bought) a second pack. More cards = more players = more fun.

@noir I told you it's fine. I'm not a collector, so I don't really care about condition. It wasn't bent that badly (in fact, I have two copies of that card, and I can't even tell which one was bent). Besides, it's only worth 10 cents anyways. Bring more of those cookies next meetup and we'll call it even.

@carcino !vgp Instead of the typical "Buck yeah, American war hero!" storyline of most MMS games, Spec Ops takes the "War is hell" approach and really drives it home. || You are sent on what initially seems like a rescue mission, only to find yourself caught in an active war zone with no idea which side (if either) is "the bad guys", and having to defend yourself against both. || There are cutscenes -- perhaps a few more than strictly necessary -- to drive the story forward, but most of the story is told through in-game chatter between yourself and your teammates. || The game also allows you to make choices (with consequences) through the gameplay, rather than through any RPG-style dialogue. "Do I shoot this guy, or let him walk away?"; "Do I use this rocket launcher to clear the room of hostiles, or do I try to find another way around?"; "Do I go in guns blazing? oops, I just gunned down a civilian who was running for cover."

@puzzlemint @carcino !vgp In short, Spec Ops is a shades-of-grey style game that does its best to make you feel like crap. Which is refreshing, in a morbid kind of way.

!vgp Been hearing that Skyrim's Dawnguard DLC is causing a lot of trouble with attacks on towns (As is my understanding, vampires can attack towns/cities without the player knowing and easily slaughter MANY NPCs). Can anyone really say how bad this is? I've got the PC version, so the DLC's not out for me yet, but when it is I'd rather know how many ghost towns I might be dealing with.

!vgp Just finished watching the new Mass Effect 3 endings on youtube. They're.. longer. That's about it. || If you were actually hoping for a proper epilogue, or the slightest sense of closure, or any indication of what kind of impact the choices you made over the course of the trilogy have on the universe, you're not getting it here.

!vgp I finished Mass Effect 3 a few days ago, but it took me a while to really process how I felt about the ending. || Well, I was already boycotting BioWare as an extension of boycotting their parent company, EA. At least now I don't feel bad about it anymore.

!vgp Started playing Mass Effect 3 this morning. Haven't made it to the ending yet, so there's plenty of time for it to go downhill, but so far, it's easily the best Mass Effect game I've ever played.

!calgary Hmmm... not sure I'm going to bother with Otafest, to be honest. There's no way I'm staying that late for the brony panel (and by the way, whoever scheduled that is a complete dick). And practically everything else I'm interested in is all taking place at the same time, so I'm going to have to miss basically all of it except one, maybe two events. I have no money left for swag, so that rules out the vendor hall, too. || In other words, if I went, I'd just be paying $50 to get Andrea Libman's autograph, and then spend the rest of the weekend sitting around in the gaming room. || Of course, NOT getting Andrea's autograph would be a huge disappointment in and of itself, and missing the opporunity to hang with all you guys for 3-4 minutes before we all get separated like at the expo would be a shame, too. || *sigh*, decisions, man.
