@ihavebigtits @lain @detectivehyde I doubt anyone will bat an eye at second cousins marrying in most countries. There's enough separation that you might not even know you're related unless your grandparents keep in contact with their extended family.

@josemanuel Actually I'm not. There's an investigation in progress, and I'm not taking sides at all. The police will determine whether there was a rape or not, what I know of the case is that the guy was with the drunk and high woman as she was yelling out of a balcony about killing herself because someone didn't love her, that's what the neighbours testified they saw. The woman apparently says the guy raped her, the guy says he forced her back from the balcony and kept her from jumping.
I wasn't there so I obviously don't know any details, nor is it an interesting case for me to investigate at all.
My opinion was that, unrelated to the case, this whole belief of the last decade that anything done when drunk or high is rape is stupid. I don't defend sleeping with drunkards or addicts, but I also believe getting completely wasted on either alcohol or drugs shouldn't be treated by people as an excuse for anything, it should be frowned upon like it used to be, and people should react to someone complaining they did something stupid while drunk or high and then regretting it with "shouldn't have gotten so wasted" like it used to be the case.
People should have to live with the consequences of their idiotic behaviours, not be looked after like kids. And more so, the bias against men in this regard is unfair. Every drunkard has slept with someone while drunk and then regretted it, it's nothing new, and it shouldn't be treated like it is treated today. Doing so just tells people "it's ok to get drunk/high as banana and you're free from dealing with the consequences" instead of "be responsible with what you drink, you might regret it and it'll be your fault", and that treatment not only extends to stupid mistakes, but also to crime where many courts will treat a criminal being under the influence as a mitigating factor instead of an aggravating factor as it should. I firmly believe that's an irresponsible and harmful way to look at it, that harms innocent people to protect idiots that are too irresponsible to take care of themselves.
If you absolutely can't keep yourself from getting wasted, do so at home or with friends you trust, and nothing will happen. If you get wasted in public it's your own fault if you wake up in bed with someone you wouldn't sleep with sober.
Also none of this applies to drugs or alcohol being administered against your will, only when it's the result of irresponsible behaviour. -
