@Noirbatch @cajunbrony23 Yeah. We were looking for a restaurant and we passed it. We didn't end up going in, but we tried today, and they're closed on sunday which was super disappointing. Apparently they sell cheese "and more" and I want to know what else they're actually qualified to sell.

@conventrix For me, Highlander is the ultimate epitome of wasted potential. The first movie was fun but with every attempt to cash in on the franchise they dig a deeper grave. They bring it back with the anime feature film but the saving grace of that film was the villain's surprising development and not the hero's.

@conventrix Those are simply a format, and the format doesn't necessarily validate the substance or subject matter. Also, scifi, action and fantasy movies are perfectly natural in storytelling because we ran out of unique or creative relevant stories that could actually happen irl a long time ago. Anything told now that can happen irl is a regurgitation of something already written hundreds of years ago in most cases. It's the whole "yeah, he's guarded because of this specific thing that has been in 20 other stories before" kind of thing. I still think it's possible it's the context part in action which rustles your jimmies, and although it is more than obvious the cookie cut applies to many this is not the case for all.
