    2. @pegasisterforever Just a tip: there's a little green hooked-arrow looking button which will automatically type the @-name of the user you're replying to as well as preserve context so that users can read the flow of posts as a conversation.

    6. @conventrix I knew what you meant. Like if you'd said "I don't watch horror," or "sci-fi" or any other genre without the "movies" at the end; it still makes sense.

    7. @conventrix Don't confuse poor acting with believability of context. The idea that characters are believably put in those situations often prevents specific audiences from connecting with the characters, their arc and motives etc. But don't discount said movies as a genre altogether. Example = The first Terminator movie, and John Carpenter's The Thing, both have great acting and the action is sweet.

    8. @conventrix So you know that Highlander deserves the Best Movie of All Time Award

    9. @conventrix I was just joking. Lambert pulls a Steven Segall and rocks the accent boat back and forth mid-scenes

    10. @conventrix For me, Highlander is the ultimate epitome of wasted potential. The first movie was fun but with every attempt to cash in on the franchise they dig a deeper grave. They bring it back with the anime feature film but the saving grace of that film was the villain's surprising development and not the hero's.

    11. @conventrix You must not enjoy a lot of story telling.

    12. @conventrix Those are simply a format, and the format doesn't necessarily validate the substance or subject matter. Also, scifi, action and fantasy movies are perfectly natural in storytelling because we ran out of unique or creative relevant stories that could actually happen irl a long time ago. Anything told now that can happen irl is a regurgitation of something already written hundreds of years ago in most cases. It's the whole "yeah, he's guarded because of this specific thing that has been in 20 other stories before" kind of thing. I still think it's possible it's the context part in action which rustles your jimmies, and although it is more than obvious the cookie cut applies to many this is not the case for all.
