@argembarger Are there 17 hearts there 'cause Ohio is the 17th state? If so, keep them.
-
@starshine Night of Pony is awesome.
-
Garmarna made two good songs, but they are freakin' great songs. Some of the most unique music I've heard; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AAeb0STkbc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XzMbdnTGW8 Really good tracks.
-
@starshine Dude, I did last night. Bought a 1.5 litre bottle of wine that was 13% alcohol for eight bucks. I was playing TF2, and had to yell at people to hold still so I could target them with my Medi-gun. You could think I was annoying, but an admin turned on allspeak so everyone could hear how retarded I was being. I made some new friends.
-
@nightwillow You can get really drunk on ten bucks.
-
@appleseed Here it is with no compression, no mixing, nothin'! Starts about 10 seconds in. This is just how it sounded after I finished up the recording. Didn't put the kick drum in the mix, either. If you just a good overhead mic set up with a mic on the kick you wouldn't do too bad for yourself http://doctormowinckel.com/boogers/CADICM417.mp3
-
@appleseed Uh, dang. Just found these for $30 a pop; http://www.buy.com/prod/cad-icm417-overhead-condenser-microphone/q/sellerid/10848956/loc/101/218338611.html I've recorded with them before, used them for overheads. I'll boot up that session and bounce just the overhead recording to give you an idea of how they sound.
-
@appleseed Yeah, I've had to use it a couple times when the band wanted to record live off the floor, and we didn't have enough inputs to put 8+ mics on the drum kit. It's a really good micing technique.
-
@appleseed Ever heard of the Glyn Johns recording method? Only uses three mics and sounds pretty darn good; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AKZ9b82eIE Here's another video about drum recording with two inputs; http://ronansrecordingshow.com/2010/07/drum-recording-advice-drum-tracks-in-the-mix/ and here are some more deets about the Glyn Johns method; http://www.wikirecording.org/Guide_to_Recording_Drums#Three_Microphones
-
@appleseed If you wanna talk mics feel free to ask me! I got into this industry 'cause I like music, but I also like the gear.
-
@appleseed I did post a mic out to a friend, we're going to be starting our own pony podcast soonly, but his life's kinda hectic right now, but the first episode will definitely be up within two weeks. Seeing as I'm an audio engineer and posted him a professional quality mic, it will be the best sounding pony podcast on the internets.
-
@appleseed Haha, 'fraid not. I know a lot of guys sell off their old mics as they buy new ones, but I don't turn mine around. Hold onto 'em, never know when one of your cheaper mics is going to give you /that sound/ on something you're recording.
-
@appleseed No such thing as too many microphones. This isn't even half of them, just set a few up for a promo shot to show off my gear on my wobsite. http://ur1.ca/502m1
-
@appleseed Really? I thought it could have been fleshed out way more. You didn't learn much about the protagonist, and I bet that in the screenplay, there was more to him than what was in the film. And the ending was so tacky. I don't know how you can seriously film someone walking away as something explodes into a ball of fire. That's something you do on CSI as a tongue in cheek thing.
-
@appleseed Did you ever watch Law Abiding Citizen? Such a cool idea for a flick, but the script got Hollywoodized. I bet the screenplay was way better than what ended up being filmed.
-
@appleseed Yeah, I just saw that one. Guys seriously good at this stuff.
-
Man I almost forgot about this video. This is definitely the best Source animating I've seen. Someone overlayed TF2 models to the Law Abiding Citizen trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjGrHBpfqCo
-
Maaaaaaaaaaan, season two is like, going to be here, and soon! That's so awesome. There's gonna be more pony! More of the awesome ponies, that's so cool, I'm super stoked for it. I'm excited. This is going to be awesome.
-
Huh. The manager for a band I took some pictures of asked to license some of my photographs. I wasn't planning on making money with photography, but hey, if it happens, it happens!

murdock. Kaizer's Orchestra released their first record a decade ago as of September 1st. To celebrate I got epically drunk with a mate and played a lot of TF2. I literally just woke up after being passed out for three and a half hours.

I have just purchased a 1.5 litre bottle of wine that's 13% alcohol volume, only eight bucks! This can get me exceptionally drunk

@lyokotravels I was really into Nyan Cat, then ponies happened. Haven't looked back. I can say that about a lot of things. Used to be play a lot of games, then ponies happened. Used to watch a lot of TV, then ponies happened. Used to hang out with a lot of friends, then ponies happened. Now I have six friends who are way more awesome than my old friends. That last one is a lie, I never hung out with a lot of people! Ah ha ha! Really I'm not very social.

@greydragon412 You don't know about bananas? Well you can find out about bananas ON THE MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON BEEEEEEEE-YETCH!
-
@darklycute !Ohiobronies How 'bout Gemini? Neil Armstrong is probably the most famous Ohioan, and while he's famous for his Apollo missions, his first mission with NASA was Gemini.
-
Not gonna lie, never played Deus Ex. I was into PC gaming in a big bad way around the late nineties and early 2000s, but I missed it. Was way too busy with Starcraft, Total Annihilation, Planescape Torment, Homeworld, Syberia Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Diablo II, The Longest Journey, and all the other awesome games that came out around that time. Just snagged a copy of it. Given my like of William Gibson novels and PC games, I imagine I'll like it.

You can be amazing at what you do, be it write, take pictures, make music, be an awesome cinematographer, hell even be an awesome lighting guy, but if you're quiet and don't shove what you do down everyones throat, no one cares. No one gives a papayas about your trade if you're modest. You have to be noisy, you have to be an obnoxious loud twat who spends way more time talking about what they do than they spend doing what they do. People don't care about quality, they care about the idiot running their mouth. Rather than look for real professionals, people find the loudest voice, and go 'Oh he says a lot he must know what he's doing!'. The people who are doing are way too busy to run their mouths, so they're always going to be overlooked. That's really frustrating. As a damn good engineer and someone who knows some amazing photographers who aren't noisy, it appleses me off seeing myself, and them getting dismissed because we're busy doing, and not running our mouths.

@celestiaforequestria I've started a deviant art. Give me comments and praise http://doctormowinckel.deviantart.com/
-
@celestiaforequestria I read. A lot. I move like once a year, so I never really have time to make friends, so, y'know, in lieu of hanging out with people, I read.
-
@gangstashy I like how they kept the colour of Canon pro lenses intact.
