Blech, I'm going to go to bed now, and then if I can still taste this when I wake up, I'm going to sandpaper my tongue off.

@purplephish20 I can't say I've ever licked one, but I know the smell when you open the little packet, and it tastes like that smell but more chemically bitter.
-
@purplephish20 Well it's supposed to be a modification for my food tech coursework, and I'm testing different fruits in the bottom of my chocolate cake, so I used blueberries, raspberries, apple, and for the control group, pear because that's the original thing that I put in. I made double quantities of the mix, thinking that that should about make 24 small samples, but it only did 18. I made another half quantity, but I think I mixed up the quantities of baking powder and bicarbonate of soda, and didn't mix it properly, so the butter was poorly mixed. I then baked them because I didn't have the ingredients for more, and when I tried the mix just after putting it onto the pear in the base of the tins, and it was possibly the most disgusting thing I've tasted that is supposed to be food. Imagine dishwasher tablet, ground into a handful of salt, and swilled down with a shot of week old tomato juice. That's as close as I can get to describing what it tasted like.
-
So I may have made the worst baked bads I have ever made...
-
@mrdragon I have a late Victorian/early Edwardian house, but we have a dog crate there.
-
@mrdragon We have high ceilings, but we don't have the horizontal space for a tree that would be that big.
-
@mrdragon Fair enough. I know people who get eight foot tall trees and I don't know how they do it.
-
@mrdragon My cats used to sleep in the tree, and we keep it on a coffee table with a big sheet underneath for the needles.
-
@mrdragon Ah, see we buy fresh ones because it makes the house smell christmassy for ages.
-
We are now slightly more than two weeks away from the !midlands meetup, so if we can have some feedback of who is and isn't coming, and then that would be great. Also, it would be good if we could organise meeting times and places, what we're going to do and the like.

@mrdragon Christmas trees are good. We usually get ours half way through December
-
@mrdragon I'm front.
-
@moonprincess Exactly! Why should I concede to his decree solely because of the prerogative bestowed upon his person by the powers that be?
-
I was today criticised by my English teacher that I should "avoid odd, obfuscating word choice" Really sir? You, who regularly uses words such as "cogitate" I refuse to tergiversate merely to fit in with your green pen!
-
@ceruleanspark Wait, does than mean I'm a dim candle?
-
@rotation That confuses me, but I'm otherwise alright.
-
@rotation Hey, what's up?
-
So I'm back, or something like that
-
-
@xtux345 No, because it's a dud. Do you think I'd want to kill you or something? What kind of a pony do you think I am?
-
@xtux345 No I mean the one under your other foot.
-
@xtux345 How strange, because you're standing on my land mine.
-
@ceruleanspark I'm carjacking this carjacker!

@purplephish20 Opening your mouth actually helps with "favours"
-
@mrdragon That's still probably better for your health than what you get down here.
-
@mrdragon Yes, but this won't be in Newcastle.No-one helps anyone down here...
-
@mrdragon See, now your reward is a slap, your punishment is going to be a stabbing in a dark alley and being left to bleed out in agony.
-
@mrdragon I'm a Brummie.
