  4. @matthew Its not boring its just you dont get to study 'British history' in any real depth. A bit of Tudors and Stuart's, but lots of Egypt, Rome, Bit of Ancient Greece. Even if you doHistory at GCSE its mainly the cold war (well not even that just the Cuban Missile Crisis).
I am of course ignoring WWII which is brought up at every opportunity.

  17. @matthew I'll be honest, if you can get by with just meeting 20 people a day. Part of my brain is envyous. Whilst another part is telling me "You lived that life, and you can't go back"

  18. @matthew PETA kills more animals than they save so I think it's safe to say that PETA isn't the authority on anything.

  20. @matthew @matthew Yup. The main and most prominent strain is own by the Chemical Company Monsanto. Which, has tons of legal loop holes that allow them to effectively bankrupt farmers by accusing them of stealing their seeds and then asking for a compromise which involves dropping the charges in exchange for the and they own. Here is a short video on this :L

  23. @matthew I think eating exclusively meat is bad for you, but it goes both ways. Eating exclusively vegetables is also pretty bad for you. It's all about balanced.

  24. @matthew To reduce my carbon footprint and to avoid diabetes. I gave up because being a cook involves loads of tasting, so now I go to the gym more often instead, or at least try to. If you are going to ask "What about the animals, were they ever an issue in your choice ?" I am afraid I am going to have to say "no, not really, might be horrible to say, but a: the market is supply and demand. and B: it's still the best, cheapest, and most delicious ( argueably ) source of proteins out there." ... Although there are some REALLY awesome vegetarian products out there, my advice to everyone, try them all, and use them more often if you like them.

  25. @matthew Man, just about every food is genetically modified. Which is why I think people who try to like wage war on GMO food are dumb.

Wednesday, 22-Oct-14 22:29:31 UTC from web in context
  26. @matthew Maybe, but as a statement on its own, "Genetically modified" doesn't actually have good or bad connotations.
