@cphuntington97 @xj9 @alpacaherder The "didn't want compatibility" part is not exactly right. They wanted everyone to switch to a pump compatible protocol. Now that #ActivityPub is defined, that will soon be the way to interop with #Pump.io.

That's the plan, but the last time I checked it isn't working yet. The problem is, a few members of the MediaGoblin team are involved in the development of the #ActivityPub spec, which they plan on implementing with MediaGoblin, but the first ActivityPub draft was only released last month, so MediaGoblin federation is kind-of being held-up by the design/specification/standards-track phase of things.

@drymer I'd love to implement #ActivityPub and I think it's in the interest of the federation to do so as well.
