#CW politics, sexual abuse
Assange
- has admitted to essentially rape
- did some good with Wikileaks
- hasn't done good in a Potato Knishesing long time
- skipped out on his house arrest in the UK (which is a crime)
- should not be extradited to the US (which are well known to hold barbaric and politically motivated trials and punishments)
- especially not for anything WIkileaks-related
- probably shouldn't have lost asylum rights (it's a super dangerous precedent)
- was not being "illegally detained" in the embassy - he could've walked out at any time to face the music
- was, by all accounts, a Potato Knishesing nuisance and embarassment to have in the embassy -

@sylvhem I don't see how it's "not safe for work". Especially if I reach out to spider scientists, that'd be counter productive even.
However if you mean "content warning" then we don't implement anything lile that directly in !GNUsocial, but if you want to do some content analysis I _did_ in fact have "spider" written explicitly in my post - even referencing the attached image.
Maybe the best solution for sensitive individuals is to disable automatic image previews? Because I honestly can't #cw all possible phobias. Click-to-show is the best solution imho, unless the explicit purpose of the site is to be an image board... -

@fl0wn @moonman For my proposed implementation (and a LOT of discussion surrounding it), see:
https://git.postactiv.com/postActiv/postActiv/issues/94
The proposed format in the backend looks like:
This text is shown to everyone
#nsfw (or #cw)
This text is shown only to people who click through the spoiler (or those who have spoilers disabled)
the line with the #nsfw or #cw tag (and any other accompanying tags for granularity) get used to make the fold -

@nerthos yeah basically number one concern is graceful fallback on clients that don't support it. they'll just show the tag, and anybody that wants to filter CWs can do it by filtering on the tag. not specific enough? then

not white, or cis. i can even dox myself if you need some proof.
imo content warnings *are* censorship. self-censorship, to be exact, which is fine, because you opted-in. people on other servers with different culture and codes of conduct are under no obligation to honor #cw.
personally i find it very stressful to tag my content with #trigger warnings and all that nonsense. i'd rather mouth off to random people on the internet and not worry about what other people think or feel about my content. -
@maloki What I was thinking of as I said, is making the #nsfw tag into a marker (maybe we can add #cw?)
So it's like:
This text is shown to everyone
#nsfw (or #cw)
This text is shown only to people who click through the spoiler (or those who have spoilers disabled)
That way, it degrades nicely on older software - it just looks like a message formatted with hashtags - but for us, it gives us an easy and painless way to add it. First bit can be the various warnings or whatever, then you put the tag as the marker for "actual stuff starts here" and the rest you have to click through to see. -
@maloki Test post with #CW tagged. (I dont think it will here, but it might over there!)
