#Xubuntu #Desktop #Lightlocker #xfce #screensaver #xscreensaver I had two overlapping screensavers. Maybe that was the reason why the #lockscreen #password field was #disabled. It was so annoying. You couldn't unlock X session after it got locked once. It was also #BOFH like trolling. Enter your password, and it can't be done. I'm sure someone was laughing somewhere. #Ubuntu #X

#HappyBirthdayGnome :-) @Gnome was the first GNU/Linux desktop I used when I installed a free operating system for the first time in 2005. After so many years and a myriad of changes, it continues to be the main desktop I use. I thought I would never touch it again when I saw #Gnome3 but I was wrong. I kept returning to it and found it the most helpful desktop when I was having #RSI problems; Gnome3 absolutely minimizes the number of mouse clicks and hand movements. I can do everything from the keyboard without causing extreme repetitive stress. I wanted to highlight this aspect today, because some people tend to see it only as something "designed with touchscreens (not desktops) in mind"; they are wrong. Gnome works perfectly for those who want to get things done efficiently. Gnome is the future. Thanks !Gnome :-)

futzing around with the #desktop #theme again, still not quite satisfied, I don't want so much glitz as the delorean (dark) theme has, nd its graphics are inconsistent; I'll probably end up picking a decent dark theme (with a GTK2 and GTK3 variant) and just changing the colors... :-/ #ihateblue
