off to my #hammock! slow but sure progress today. Set up Dynamic DNS for one subdomain (for Hal, the NAS) at a free service; can CNAME it back to my own (sub)domain. Only thing is, their service cannot detect my IPv6 address, so I'll have to find something different, or create that myself. (I like the latter, if it's not too hard.) Now looking at tiny-small VPSs to host such little "services" on - maybe later also a DNS server. :) And still looking for a free DNS host (until I DIY) - NameCheap is out, but there are other options, I just have to test (and that takes time). Already at work on my first task for today: setting up port forwarding on my router (Fritz!Box fon WLAN 7360), so I can make remote connections with SSH. Reading up on how to do this so I actually understand what I'm doing ;-) (Found some web pages. Need more !coffee) #networking
