hope it's not too late for your presentation, ask if you need more details please. chronological: because of a !friendica bug, my bot, security aspect, it does what I want best. more at: http://www.skilledtests.com/wiki/Blog:Observations/why_statusnet

Are you really telling me no one would find the wikipedia page about the #ostatus protocol where e.g. #statusnet #friendica are listed ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OStatus
-
on the @question that "#private" and "#federated" feel like they're in tension: take for example the #friendica systems: they federate also within their system (and via !ostatus with SN) and offer private messages (and btw: I am not saying: something is private at all in the internet, just what people "think" is hidden)
-
and ... @vvillenave if you ask me start a discussion on #friendica about this or it won't be fixed faster (since people don't see #friendicats need it)
-
sometimes #open questions are good, and sometimes !not. I wonder if I should post: "I love their colors" ;-) man, tell your #criteria and you'll get #faster what you want to hear. RT @willrico #Friendica vs. #Diaspora? If anyone has opinions or experiences to share with these free social networks, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

#friendica approved by the cats! http://mini.alochana.net/attachment/943

that is also my experience and what I liked with !friendica: it works in harder environments - and we could find a solution for #friendica's current pubsubhub problem (1) by putting SN in between, I think: your friendica (2) -> your SN <- #fediverse (1) http://oracle.skilledtests.com/conversation/184537#notice-286824 (2) from what I heard: denting to people with name works in friendica
-
what I told in chat: Well, my rule is: if I don't want it out, I don't post that. That's also why I don't use #friendica so much anymore: I don't #trust in software to make protection, since it's buggy, can be hacked ... and since I know I am using a public #statusnet instance, I am - each time - reminded that it's #public. So I don't run in the danger to "#forget" this
-
@csolisr If you have some trouble that others don't see your friendica posts, keep this in mind: "For #PuSH to work, you need some sort of #pubsubhub service, that #statusnet / #GNUsocial has built in, friendica doesn't" "Which will certaily be attacked by us #friendica devs in the future but won't work now." http://social.alochana.net/display/lohang/107 https://f.diekershoff.de/display/tobias/79426

Oh I get a decision some months ago to support a #system (in this case pump Where did io), which get many #problems, not only the #federation part, while #systems like statusnet or #friendica DO WORK? (btw: Python 2.0 was released 12 years, and 324 days ago)

yeah :-( it's not entirely #Evan's "fault". The scared, put-off #identi.ca users could just look out for other communities, software (like #statusnet or #friendica), not sure if it's only "laziness" or the lost #trust (in #opensource run things). #otoh each one of us can do more PR for such communities/software: the failure to do that helps in the end big silos like #twitter (not sure if comparing it to the elections is a good analogy: people who do #not vote will get hurt in the end)

What's a blog for you ? One could also do it with SN by using the #blog tag. Is the char length a problem ? one could search a SN server with more chars (than quitter). For table structure one can use the #textile plugin. for structuring pics inside the text SN's not so good (but I think #friendica can do that better) cc @zoowar

2 years ago: I installed my #friendica instance http://www.skilledtests.com/wiki/Micro_blogging_posts and still use it
-
Now they put an explanation on their page: Sorry we need to close #Friendica because it doesn't #scale well for multiple users, reported twice to developers last year http://bugs.friendica.com/view.php?id=391 and http://bugs.friendica.com/view.php?id=515 without any changes or improvements. Friendica development focuses on #Red https://github.com/friendica/red Less #donations from Friendica users https://flattr.com/profile/frndc
-
That's interesting... RT @rvstudio Hi, do you know why https://frndc.com (a #Friendica pod) redirects to https://diasp.eu since a couple of days?
-
At first I thought: so what, you'd have double posts, and ? RT @freiefunken@twitter.com Which of you are posting to #diaspora or #friendica in a way that I could #unfollow you here??? #preparations
-
@heluecht @hast can you help? @chris (from #friendica) can follow SN accounts from quitter.se but not belfalas.org
