I think it should be possible, because e.g. Bob Mottram @motters@identi.ca has #friendica running "on the original #SheevaPlug for 3 years." and firendica is more bloated

I chose identi.ca back then because of 1. #hierarchical threading 2. better #licence than twitter (3. and after 10 months there I decided I should #own my data and federated myself with #statusnet and #friendica)

What's your point in terms of its #maturity level when one considers time already spent (man hours) in comparison to other existing software (e.g. #statusnet, #friendica)? Then it's also unfair to expect something good already ?

#pump2status currently only helps you to find other pumpkin users. You have to ask #Evan why he delayed #federation in his pump.io or when he wants to build it in (if you want to send to pump.io users you have to use one of the #friendica instances which offer the pumpio plugin http://dir.friendica.com/siteinfo )

Well we have seen what the mass will cause on a server (if what #Evan said is true it will also take its toll on the #quitterverse AND then all of the users there will suffer) I still think most people need to think more about what #federation really means: it does NOT matter on which server I am, I can connect to anybody (be it #statusnet or #friendica, perhaps #pumpio in the future, perhaps)

We've to "wait" until the #GNUsocial team makes the plugin. Currently we have only the #friendica addon https://github.com/friendica/friendica-addons/tree/master/pumpio (which only sends to pumpkinverse) by @heluecht@status.pirati.ca - the #RSS feed of pumpio https://github.com/e14n/pump.io/issues/55 I'm not sure if/when it will come. Ideally we've only 1 server where you can add any contact OR even better which can import automagically

Indeed and I wouldn't post it in my #friendica either (or #pumpio or wherever). The data can be stored/sniffed and with hardware (better than now in the future) decrypted

@eric this mechanism is actually funny (sometimes): when people delete their posts because of a typo for example, then I see 2 dents + wonder :-) but: it#s also dangerous: imagine you post something sensitive then it's saved everywhere (and you'd need to ask all your followers to del it), in this case #friendica is better since it removes such postings from others (in theory, because if I wanted I can find ways to not allow this)

Only if one #updates every day. #friendica is quite active in development and many friendica owners pull and wonder why they get errors. Hello, it's untested ;-)

Und niemand kann mir weismachen, dass der Erfinder des #ostatus http://oracle.skilledtests.com/url/5265 Protokolls nicht "flux" das in #pumpio einbauen kann, das ist einfach eine "politische" Entscheidung. Man kann ja über das #Friendica addon nach pumpio hin senden, aber ist halt #noch ein System mehr denken sich wohl ein paar (mein Friendica funzt übrigens, aber ich nutze das plugin net). Das Interessante an der ganzen Situation ist ja, mit #statusnet oder #friendica haben wir #autonome Systeme, die schon bewährt sind. Wenn ich mir vorstelle, wie lange friendica schon existiert und wie lange es gedauert hat, bis die "normale" Presse das entdeckt hat, tsts... Naja, das #fediverse existiert und hat seitdem sich pumping identica abgekoppelt hat, keine Probs gehabt bzgl. dent-schreibender Benutzer. Jetzt geht's nur drum, die Leutchens, die es noch nicht wissen, herzubringen; irgendwann kommt ja die Bridge zu pumpio und die User können hier einfach weitermachen cc @morgenland @miradlo
