@natecull you can "delete a post (to fix typos)" on #Mastodon? I can't on #GNUsocial and I just accept it as part of "social media" workflow

No tener en cuenta para eventos de software libre, feminismos, okupación, hacking, seguridad informatica, ... estas redes es estar fuera de la realidad real. Aquí se cocinan muchas veces noticias que salen al día siguiente en papel. Una realidad palpable para mi es al día de hoy #gnusocial aunque llevemos años muchas/os dando por culo con esto.

Es curioso pero en el #hackmeeting de este año estaba muchisima peña de #gnusocial . Es algo que tendremos que analizar estos meses por la zona local de este hackmeeting. Sinceramente algo que sabemos desde hace años. Ni todo el mundo está en twitter ni twitter tiene el impacto real que parece.

Esto viene a hacernos pensar que este tipo de redes federadas tienen que seguir creciendo seguramente pero que al mismo tiempo actualmente son ya una realidad social palpable.

@zatnosk some people find value in #GNUSocial !groups, but they aren't defined in #OStatus and aren't supported by all #fediverse servers

some #GNUSocial instances don't federate at all. They are just serving a difference use case

I'm not sure how you would know if your timeline is "too white" ... other than a few people who talk about their ancestry or use (what we assume is) their facial image as their avatar, a person using #GNU_Social / #Friendica / #Mastodon / #Red_Matrix / #Hubzilla could be of any ethnic group, from any location around the world.

That's actually one of the best things about online communications. I may talk with you for years before I realize you are a member of $RACE and $NATIONALITY or that you live in $COUNTRY. We get the opportunity to build relationships without all that garbage in the way.
