  3. @gearbox if you'd like a nice autorefresher for RDN you might try either the !mintrefresh or !rdnrefresh script in Greasemonkey (for Firefox) / Tampermonkey (for Chrome)

  5. @thatonepony That might get me to switch back to !rdnrefresh… I really like !mintrefresh though…

  6. @greydragon412 !mintrefresh is a hundred times better for that exact reason

  7. @eaglehooves I'm assuming script derp, since that looks exactly like what happens when !mintrefresh tries to get dashes when the site is down/glitchy.

  8. @eaglehooves If !MintRefresh, then #

  9. !mintrefresh If you favorite a redash by mistake and don't unfavorite it before navigating to another page or reloading the same page, it becomes impossible to unfavorite it.

  10. @equestrianbrony You also get buttons for decoding/encoding rot13 as part of the two commonly used auto-refresh scripts available for this site: !mintrefresh and !rdnrefresh (to get one, click one of those two links, and follow the link in the group's descriptions; you'll need to install Greasemonkey or Scriptish first if using Firefox, or install Tampermonkey first if using Chrome). !mintrefresh has generally fewer features, but seems to refresh a little faster, at least on my system. !rdnrefresh has a lot more features, and quite a bit of customizability. Both have their good points, so I'd say try both (remember to remove one before installing the other, though) and see which you like. I'd definitely suggest that you get one of them, though, since auto-refreshing makes it much easier to keep up with the speed of conversation on this site. (Aside: this notice might well be the closest I've come to hitting the notice length limit here.)

  11. !mintrefresh in firefox 12 seems to cause the RDN tab to light up when inactive even when no new content has appeared in the timeline.

  12. @bitshift I get that from time to time with !mintrefresh too.

  13. @valiantratchet Sounds like a personal problem, so let'see are you going with !rdnrefresh or !mintrefresh?

  14. @ponyguru Welcome to RDN newpony! There's not much, just dash(post in rdn language) stuff, use the little green arrow at the bottom of each message to reply, heart to favourite, recycle to repeat, and join groups and place an exclamation mark in front of them of them like this !example to dash stuff related to a group. You can also use !rdnrefresh or !mintrefresh to keep yourself up to date with what's going on on the public timeline without having to manually refresh. Have fun and don't feel shy about asking for more help if you need it, we're all more than willing!

  15. @greydragon412 @djvinylpon3 Or !mintrefresh. I prefer it, _but_ it's somewhat more buggy right now, so I'd say !rdnrefresh is your better option, at least for now.

  16. @awesomeman1000 get !RDNrefresh or !mintrefresh. then press the little key button.

  17. !MintRefresh updated - Stopped it from telling you it has an update every day, made repeating a repeat repeat the original repeated notice rather than repeating the repeat (Yes I tried to make that as convoluted as possible.)

  20. @toksyuryel That's been happening to me since I installed it. Also, I don't see my mod-given trash icons next to posts which aren't mine, but I was waiting to tell @minti in realtime. . . . !mintrefresh

  23. @toksyuryel I'm thinking this is being caused by !mintrefresh, but I'm not positive.

  25. @minti Oh, okay. Then yeah, it'd be neat to have IdentiCurse (that's where I grabbed that line from, though I've also used it elsewhere since) and !mintrefresh agree on what constitutes a link. :)

  26. @minti I'm not quite sure what purpose it would solve in !mintrefresh, given it matches valid URLs, and the posts returned by SN already have a neatly tokenized (including URLs as links) version in the form of the HTML output.

  28. No support for lilac in the !mintrefresh formatting codes? I am disappoint.

  29. !MintRefresh I'm tempted to add an option to parse a watered down version of Markdown to the script. It would look and act a lot better than bbcode and would still be understandable to people who don't have the script. (cc @widget ?)
