Yes, because all your dents are sent out to our #statusnet instances and your or other SN #admins don't have the right to #delete that in those databases. E.g. it's in theory possible to delete in other apps like !friendica - but I say in theory, because when I am the admin I can write a feature to #NOT allow your delete command to be executed or just make a backup before delete and let it stay hidden in my DB

Did someone install #statusnet under #windows recently ? There's a guy now writing to 3 bug reports :-( I believe it's XP, PHP 5.2.2, Apache 2.2 with SN 1.1 and/or 1.1.1 http://status.net/open-source/issues/4002 http://status.net/open-source/issues/4009 http://status.net/open-source/issues/3483 (see comment)

Happy Birthday also to me :-) 2 years ago I #federated with my 1st #statusnet instance! 6 months after that I also installed this #oracle instance in parallel http://skilledtests.com/wiki/Micro_blogging_posts

some history: exactly 2 months ago @mbjunior wrote his 1st dent on this #statusnet instance (1). Tomorrow @copyme will share the same fate with (2) and @mk wrote her 1st dent 3 months ago (3). If you want: we can try it at my #statusnet (I can also try via #commandline tool in case the web GUI import does NOT work here)

GNU social (will) add new/update things to the current #statusnet code, see @mmn@social.umeahackerspace.se 's blog and http://oracle.skilledtests.com/notice/301592 http://oracle.skilledtests.com/conversation/189752#notice-298775

here are the #statusnet groups listed: http://federation.skilledtests.com/List_of_federated_Statusnet_groups.html
-
There's the #statusnet plugin Autocomplete (1) which a SN admin must enable and then: you choose the group you want to post to in a drop down menu. Helps, of course, only in the Web UI. (1) http://gitorious.org/statusnet/mainline/trees/master/plugins/Autocomplete

We can't expect users to know #all existing groups (though there's a list) besides that we also let them their #freedom to make 1 or more parallel groups. That the current #statusnet software may be perceived as not supporting all of them (though there's a plugin for that) is for me not so a strong argument. I like more that there can be devlopped #sub-cultures by making those parallel groups AND I like this suggestion of yours: http://quitter.se/notice/2148392

RT @rayeshman@quitter.se @torproject Why you don't have a #statusnet account?
-
next week in #GNUSocial: proper #WebFinger, #qvitter API improvements (perhaps also: #parent retrieval for orphaned posts) http://blog.mmn-o.se/2013/09/19/next-week-in-gnu-social/ via @mmn@social.umeahackerspace.se #statusnet

very good! you do already much (more than most): you run your own #statusnet instance
-
Nice! Finally managed to enable old school : add $config[‘oldschool’][‘enabled’] = true; to your config file and fine tune it from the GUI.
