And to make it clear: #personally I don't need any #new shiny features, #statusnet works for my needs perfectly (though I may complain here and there, but the main function of SN is done great by SN. Everybody say thanks to @evan@evan.status.net). I'm still running version 1.0.1 (security patched). If I want to add something, I code a plugin and that's it. And yes, I'll also patch again on security things when they come

Gehen wir die Sache mal etwas anders an: spielst du mit dem Gedanken, #selbst einen Dienst, Server aufzumachen (nur für dich oder z.B. Bekannte, eine Gruppe) ? Dann können wir dir bestimmt helfen bei der #Auswahl an Software, denn es gibt da #viele (1). Selbst wenn nicht, hilft dir diese Liste, einen Dienst zu finden, der zu dir passen könnte. #Tent.io selbst habe ich vor 1 Jahr ausprobiert (2), aber da war das noch im Anfangsstadium und mit reifen Projekten wie #statusnet !friendica #diaspora nicht en par. Ich denke, dass @lnxw37@quitter.se mehr über das aktuelle tent im Bilde ist. RT @kristalloptik This is crazy. #Pump.io just managed to kill my final post. Now I have to rewrite it. I'll make it short now, since I don't have the nerve to re-create it in it's entire form. I'm #leaving pump.io universe in favor of #Diaspora. Find me here: https://diasp.eu/u/kristalloptik if you still want to follow in the future. The transition from #StatusNet to pump.io has been a huge #drawback for the #OpenSource community. #Federation is still the biggest issue for all #decentralized social networks and I hope solutions can be found. But I for myself am choosing Diaspora as my home for now. It has been working ok and seen constant development for a pretty long time. Their transition from funded project to a #foundation seems to be moving forward fine too. I wish Evan well with his company. Hope to see you all once federating is solved and pump.io and Diaspora can talk to each other. :)

I can understand that some of you just wanted microblogging with a #Twitter Bridge, and #identi.ca and the #pump.io network right now offer #other kind of things. I understand that some of you don't want to setup a #statusnet server (in fact, setup any server), and prefer to use third party services. But, if this is your case, why didn't you sign an account in other status.net #public server (for example, I'm in quitter.se/larjona ) and keep on #microblogging from there? Why you just moved to Twitter, and grow the #sad, centralized internet?

users + more important non-lazy #statusnet admins can set/change the default #shortener for such a case. I'm worrying more about the #old dents :-( When #Evan (might) sell it it'll be unclear what the new #owner will do. And no one tell me that it might not happen, the millions of old dents on identi.ca are not accessible right now, since months cc @drak

missing #statusnet feature: This is not the first time happening, users do NOT know how to handle such scenarios. Other systems like !friendica, #twitter offer the (known, befriended, ...) nick: so in this case a plugin or SN core should offer 1. @erkanyilmaz 2. OR if this nick is not available on the local instance: @erkanyilmaz@oracle.skilledtests.com (known, from previous conversations on that SN instance?), needs to be more thought of when such nicks should appear (in dropdown offered to user). The advantage of course being that users would NOT need to sub to my account and because sub'ing is another hurdle for newcomers to SN in their learning curve :-(
