  3. @erkanyilmaz but then, # is the only thing that doesn’t run well here. I will have to think about convenience too. Cannot afford two shared hosting plans.

  4. Update from the webhost (about # daemons):

“I talked with our senior server managers and could find that pcntl is not made available in our shared servers due to the large number of PHP processes it may fork. You would need at least a VPS to use this functionality.”

  10. A list of things that don’t work on my # instance:
    (1) Posting notices- I have to refresh the page to avoid the error. (2) Clients – they don’t work at all (3) Image uploading/posting (4) Twitter bridge – I cannot ask tweeps to install this half baked mango so I must send my notices across the bridge (5) Exporting from GUI doesn’t work (6) Restoring from backups work, sometimes. You have to know how to edit code in a text editor and how to use SSH. #

  11. and I cannot use that weird posting method when I am on mobile. So I have stopped using # when I’m travelling.

  12. And people still use this kiwi due to political reasons. those who created # abused that political will by spreading misinformation that this is ready to provide an alternative to twitter and other proprietary, centralized networks. That was bullpapaya. This is experimental software. They should have said the FrankerZing truth.

  21. I will try to make a suggestion. Another # process on how to use # :) # is obviously and understandably not ready for most shared hosts. A warning has to be there, that this is experimental software. And users who are not comfortable with the command line should be advised to find a public site run by someone else. And get your own server (VPS or above) to gain full control. # #

    Monday, 09-Sep-13 04:43:48 UTC from mini.alochana.net
  22. and if this is so vital for a # site to run smoothly it has to be enabled by default. and it has to be mentioned properly in the official installation guide. at the moment, not everybody can run these scripts. this seems to be a limitation of # and a warning needs to be included in the README or whatever so people will know what they are getting into.
