Phew! Good progress today, managed to make more backups of apps and data on my old phone. Bedtime now! Good night, !tzaf !fediverse !tempfix - It'll need more tweeks, but getting there, but te fact the old phone is rooted and the ewn one isn't definitely is creating problems. More about this as I find out more! :) And I'll have to go to Amsterdam either #tomorrow evening or (early) Monday morning. ext week is going to be #interesting (in the Chinese-curse sense ;-))

Off to bed in time for a change - I still (again) need to catch up on sleep and my ability to concentrate suffers as a result. So, hopefully it goes better #tomorrow. Of course, not as simple as it seems... apps behave differently on a rooted phone than on a non-rooted one. And while I worked out how to export and import calendars, if there's a mismatch between 'owners' or 'organisers' events are not editable. #tomorrow I'll have to type out notes and then start on the server side. Progress... but also puzzles. At least I have the most important data, but some pieces (and apps) are missing (I suspect apps that were moved to the SD card did not get backed up). !grrr Anyway, it's bedtime now!

Since recharging my current phone is mostly a fantasy these days, i went out and bought a (temporary) replacement; I can pick it up #tomorrow. Now I can only hope I can charge the old phone enough/enough times to transfer all apps and data :( But I'll have to start on that no sooner than Monday or Tuesday: have to do my #taxes first. #funnot

It was *cold* - freezing cold - when I went to the Chinese takeaway. Now, it's snowing! that will give pretty scenes, but unfortunately most likely delays for the raiways, too - and I need to go to Amsterdam #tomorrow. Well, we'll see. If necessary, I can postpone it to Sunday - as long as I make it to the travel fair in time. For now, off to my sleep chair now! Good night !tzaf !fediverse !tempfix.

One final test and a bit more of write-up left todo for #tomorrow, but I've *finally* the latest version of Flash (interaction and controls and all) working in not only Chromium but Firefox (on Ubuntu). For me, *needed* in Firefox to get interactive font previews with your own text strings working on sites like MyFonts: the only way to check how characters work together without buying a font first. Well, that only to a week or so, in total. This stuff (Flash in Firefox - and other browsers!) has been in flux since at least 2013 or so. *Disadvantage* of the Internet: it "remembers" everything, so it's actually hard to pick out the one authoritative source that's still valid TODAY. (And then you find there's another little piece missing...) For now: time for a night cap and relax a bit before trying to sleep after a major victory (or so it feels). \o/ #nevergiveup

Now I should try to relax after a pretty gruelling day with 1) trying to figure the last bits of getting Flash working in Fierfox (yes, don't ask); 2) getting more documentation on which applications on Linux support which OpenType features and 3) selecting and ordering fonts I'm going to use for my business (some of them free - I'm cheap :)). Only item 3) is done, I'll continue with the rest #tomorrow

Today is (still) a bit chaotic. I did do a few new things for my administration, but I also struggled - again - for a long time with my internet connection, and finally gave up and ordered a powerline internet extender thingy, to see if that can make any difference... hopefully that arrives #tomorrow. And I bought a new coat. :D Black, so I can wear it with my purple trousers (my red coat clashes with that). It was heavily discounted, otherwise I would not have bought it. :) What else? Shopping, and reading (about marketing). And a nice phone call. Sum total: enough. I'm going to relax now, it's been a long working day already.

I spent a large part of the day shopping for various folders and binders, both online as in brick stores - only one color I need still missing, but the rest is here, or will be delivered #tomorrow. Off to my #sleepchair now... !tzaf !fediverse !tempfix

Busy day today, but for the first time in weeks I can also say it was *really* #productive. And also, I now have a realistic theory about what's wrong with my (seemingly randomly) disappearing internet connection. Now that my internet connection is stable again (for now....) I actually got a whole lot done - very necessary, too: I need to do my VAT tax declaration, and without an internet connection I cannot even download the necessary invoices etc.... #tax #finance #networking Still more to do #tomorrow but I really have to catch up on more sleep now (to keep away another allergy attack!)
