@derps @redenchilada Sweet.
-
Just testing this StatusNet app...
-
@tigerdusk !vancouverbronies That sounds right.
-
@jackzhang Alas. I'd join you but I think my employer would look askance at me randomly wandering off.
-
@thepuzzldpirate !vancouverbronies Yeah, I'm talking about sort of the middle-leftish area if you come in from the DQ Orange Julius (west) side. Man, that's a terrible description. I was hoping I could find a map of the food court but didn't have any luck. I'll be wearing my light blue RD cutie mark shirt so I shouldn't be too hard to spot. I'll try to bring a toy or two to put on the table as well.
-
@flutterguy22 Aw, that sucks. I was wondering since we hadn't heard much from you.
-
@sturmpanzer Hey, so I'm putting together a meetup at Metrotown on Sunday - though you probably already saw that on the Vancouver group.
-
@bronymike @echron1000 !vancouverbronies Yeah, we'll meet at Metro and I guess eat initially, at least. I had had the thought of hanging around outside or going over to the park if the weather turned nice, too, but I didn't want to make it an "if it's sunny, X, if it's crappy, Y" thing because I envisioned ending up with two groups of slightly-confused bronies at either location and... yeah. I might try to show up a little early and see if I can save some space at the food court, and if anyone else wants to do likewise and try to hold something down, cool. The park is just one stop away from Metro. I'll have my phone and will be able to check/post to RDN.
-
@maxig Definitely a chance. Toss me an email at the address I mentioned and I'll give you my phone number so you can call me and check.
-
!vancouverbronies Okay. Due to the extreme likelihood of picnic-destroying rain on Sunday, the new plan is to meet up at the Metrotown food court at 1 PM (there are some tables in a quieter area on the north, i.e., Kingsway side of the food court), after which we'll... well, I guess pretty much do whatever people want to, but potential stuff is hit Toys 'R' Us/Zellers for pony merch, discuss the new season, show off anything you've brought, whatever. Don't bring food - as much as I'd love to still have a potluck I don't think it's feasible in a mall. Sorry this plan is a little thin but the sudden forecast change kind of threw me for a loop. If you're going to be late, email me (tequila at dearprincesscelestia dot com) and I'll give you my cell phone number in case we're on the move by the time you get there. If you know anyone who might not check back here before Sunday, please let them know of the change!
-
@cracky Tell me about it! One more like this and I'm going to start coming up with wild conspiracy theories.
-
@jackzhang That was really odd. I kinda like it.
-
!vancouverbronies Okay, so, bad news. The forecast for Sunday is now rain, and I don't think a picnic in the rain is going to be much fun (at least at the PNE we had indoor events to check out). I don't want to spend too much time brainstorming since Sunday is only three days from now, but how do you guys feel about switching this thing to meeting up at Metrotown and hitting Toys 'R' Us and Zellers for pony stuff and enthuse about the first season 2 episode and... I don't know, whatever else we can think of to do? I don't think we'll be able to bring food, sadly. I'll need to send off an emergency news post to EqD.
-
!vancouverbronies Okay, for the sake of getting this up top again: there will be a POTLUCK picnic in Central Park in Burnaby on Sunday, September 18th at 1 PM. The location will be very near Patterson SkyTrain station, sort of rightish as you exit the station - I think we can manage to make it obvious enough. I think we're good to go on drinks, so whatever food you want to bring is good (just don't bring nothing or I may give you a disapproving look, and I assure you my disapproving looks are nothing short of withering).

@bronymike *dig dig dig*
-
@maxig Sounds good. I'm hoping people will have room for food (still/again) by 4.
-
@tigerdusk Yeah, I'm going to have to figure out how best to catch the new episode. I imagine someone will toss it up on YouTube pretty quickly.
-
@tigerdusk Okay, sounds good. Thanks.
-
@maxig Hrrrm. Actually, if you're going to be that late it might not be worth bringing main course-y stuff. Some kinda dessert, maybe...
-
@BronyMike @afancorp Yeah, I was figuring if we could get people from the show to be involved, that would be a major hook and would probably draw people in from further afield, which would make the con thing more realistic.

@afancorp @BronyMike I was assuming if it was something annual and convention-sized there would probably have to be a membership fee just to cover venue and so forth; I've been to on the order of 20 or so (3-day) furry cons and membership is always paid. I'm open to free if there's some way such an event can be free without selling its soul, though.
-
@afancorp Mine is tequila at dearprincesscelestia dot com.
-
@cracky I wanted to take that class but ended up dropping it after discovering that our instructor was a complete doofus. The first assignment was all OpenGL and he had taught us exactly nothing about it.
-
@maxig !vancouverbronies More food's always good. I think we're a little low on appy/main course kind of stuff right now, though that's just judging by the (few) responses I've received on that front.
