1. @ashij It is a tough issue, currently I'm trying to think of a resolution, but it is stressful. On one hand eliminating gender labels will obviously solve the issue but on the same side of the coin it will cause more confusion as there is a representation both physical and psychological division between the sexes. Then on the other hand you can just include the transsexual label but that would be seen as catering to that specific group and leaving the other groups such as homosexuals, bisexuals, etc. behind, and even if you did add those groups that would defeat the purpose of the open minded theme of the site if everyone is to have labels put on them. The only real thing I suggest to to choose your words more tactfully. Going through your current thread on the issue some of your posts are a tad bid aggressive.
We don't care how you personally handle it from this point on
could have probably been worded differently. If you need any help doing so, I'll be happy to oblige.

 2. @ashij Your co-founder seems to disagree with you on the issue of censorship.

 3. @ashij Just made an account on your forum and been paying attention to this conversation here. I think the main issue here is the choice of words and the fickle concept of faith. The choice of words as odin has already explained needs to be more well chosen to prevent hurting those whom the specific issue addresses. As for the faith part, people understand that such issues are large and may have to be extended and/or taken to a later day to discuss, but will it actually happen? I've seen multiple forums say that are going to do this and later close from a couple of weeks to months time due to the userbase feeling neglected by the moderators for so long. If an issue such as this current one is to be delayed, then it should be done so with utmost care, not just placed in storage only to be forgotten until too late. The roleplay environment is an environment for open-minded individuals and such aspect of open mindedness needs to have stability in such an environment.

 4. @ashij You are a rare breed of administrators that actually try to help the userbase, and that appreciate positive and negative feedback. Countless people let power get to their heads when moderating a website, which is quite unfortunate. Many communities with great potential are turned into power trips by moderators that can't take anyone opposing what they say, even if it has nothing to do with the forum itself. Good luck.

 5. Several of our forum users expressed a desire to specifically play trans ponies in our RP, and were shut down by one of our mods in irc chat. One brony in particular brought her concerns to @ashij and another mod, and an agreement was made.

 6. @ashij I am not refusing to help. I expressed how you hurt me and then your entire staff team flamed me.

 7. @ashij I suggest you take your time on better wording... sensitive things such as this next time. From running and participating forums and communities for so long, I've realized that the last thing you need is to have your users feel supervised or threatened by the moderators to a point where the whole forum looks like a moderator power trip. Censorship of controversial topics, which I assumed was your intention, is the worst thing you can do if you want your users to feel comfortable while posting. Good luck with the situation and try to remember that the best moderation is lax moderation by extremely objective individuals.

 9. @ashij It's obvious that your intentions are good. However, it doesn't mean that you aren't unintentionally causing harm. It's obvious that juneiperjazz is overreacting, but his/her point still stands. By censoring those topics, not only have you done harm by the act of censorship itself, but you created a taboo. A taboo that will cause posters like juneiperjazz to be shunned.

 10. @ashij Cute. See this ten foot pole? Here's me not touching this post, and everything that is wrong with it. If you can't see what is wrong with what you're saying by this point, then I can't say that it is worth my energy to address it anymore.

 11. @ashij So, basically, you're asking your users to refrain from talking about anything that is even remotely controversial, or even worse, that doesn't have something do with ponies? There is only so much you can talk about a show that airs for twenty two minutes every 7 days. I am not attacking you, or your forum. If I wanted to cause harm, I wouldn't be saying this. YOU are harming your userbase by supporting this outrageous censorship. This will not help the growth of your forum, au contraire. The insane censorship (that, unfortunately, happens on many forums today) will only attract those that cause drama. Those with thin skin that get offended by anything, even when someone isn't even trying to be aggressive. By doing this, your userbase will start out badly, and that will be very hard to revert. You said you plan to change it in the future. It is easy for you to say that now. It will be difficult to do it once a large amount of those that don't know how to discuss gathers.

 12. @ashij You are censoring people. There is much potential civil discussion to be had concerning these topics. I could type many pages of text now, but it is not needed. You are censoring posters on your forum to avoid "drama" that would be caused only if a childish poster showed their immaturity in a discussion. You will not avoid drama this way. Even a casual topic will allow a poster to act immature. I'll say it again. By censoring a potential topic of an intellectual debate, you are doing harm to your forum. They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

 13. @ashij Okay, I've had a chance to cool down. I'm calm and collected. No hate here. And you know what? The transphobia of your administration's actions and words is clearer than ever. I know that you didn't ban anypony from the forum. What you banned was our existence. What you banned was our piece of mind, that we could depend on a person in charge to look out for a minority. Just because you have friends in minorities, that does not make you immune to bigotry. Just because you can claim to be inclusive, that does not mean that your actions are anything but exclusionary.

 14. @ashij Indeed, I understand your actions and agree with it now. Unfortunately most of the people discussing this issue over here at RBDN are asleep atm, sorry 'bout that. But in other news, hope your community stays well and grows, more bronies are good but unified bronies are a godsend. BTW I might be joining in the near future after I sort out my school crap lol.

 15. @ashij Hey ashi, was just talkin' about you a minute ago, lol. Just to make things clear, I agree with you now that you made that post ty. The first post/thread concerning the issue imo didn't get the point straight across as half the post was well, not on the issue. Not to mention when it hit the issue it was very very vague and I was still left wondering how the hell such an issue can cause such strife. But anyways, thanks again for your clarification post.
