Is there going to be a large-scale type meetup scheduled for Fan Expo? | @tequilasunrise !bcbronies I'll actually try to make it down for this one. Time to start looking for a couch/floor to crash on early.
-
@mcbrony !bcbronies To clarify the 4chan statement: ever since 4chan opened /mlp/, any and all traces of r34 have been eradicated. Posting a pony thread outside of /mlp/ is now a bannable offense, and posting any anthro/clop is a week global ban on /mlp/. 14 days if it's hidden by a spoiler tag. Obviously there is still clop that goes up, but it doesn't last for long.
-
@pinhooves Yeah, I generally ask around when a bigger meetup is planned.
-
@pinhooves It's more about cost. I've met a bunch of the Vancouver bronies a few times, since I've been to a decent number of meetups in late 2011, so somebody's floor/couch would be ideal. It's already pretty expensive to travel, nevermind factoring in hotel costs. ;x
-
@pinhooves Yeah, my only concern is finding a place to stay.
-
@therealscoutaloo !bcbronies Unfortunately I can't really justify a Vancouver trip for a smaller meetup; I need to wait until we get a bigger one (Fan Expo, anypony?). I'll also be in Seattle this weekend. Have fun guys! <3

@therealscoutaloo !bcbronies Nanaimo, Vancouver Island. How far away is Sidney again?
-
@mcbrony !bcbroneis Being from the Island, I need somewhat concrete planning, such as a floor or something to sleep on and the definite possibility of drinks, otherwise it just won't work logistically or money-wise. Stupid island.
-
@bronymike !bcbronies Ha ha, fair enough. In my defense, I was initially asking if another drunk hangout was upcoming. =p Also, speaking of planning, this isn't super-related, but it's ponies so what the hay. I won't be able to come over to Vancouver this weekend, unfortunately (sorry, @andranator2 !), but I will be doing a sort of mini MLP mareathon, because the episode selection on the fan-voted Hub one last weekend was horrible, and it was at 3 AM. More details here: http://ponyurl.com/vp9hv8
-
@bronymike @echron1000 !bcbronies I'm more than happy for a be-all end-all round 2. Just give me a time and place.
-
@therealscoutaloo !vancouverbronies Or hotel or something, depending on cost. I think at about 3 AM on the next day, the 10 episode mareathon for Hearts and Hooves starts, so napping and/or drinking after the concert and watching that is also a possibility depending on what ends up happening. Also, which part of the Island are you from? Victoria or up north?
-
@therealscoutaloo !vancouverbronies We'd need to find a place to sleep is the only stopping point. The concert is somewhere downtown in Vancouver I believe, doors open at 7 PM on Friday, concert is at 8. http://www.ticketweb.ca/snl/VenueListings.action?venueId=83154&pl= should be proper venue info.
-
!vancouverbronies I'd love to go to the concert, but since it starts at 7 I'd need a couch to sleep on since a hotel is a bit out of the question. If I can't go, I hope those that attend have a great time!

!vancouverbronies Well guys, the Hey Ocean concert is about a week away. Do we want to organize some kind of before and/or after brony meetup for this thing? We could possibly hang out before, go for drinks or something after, idk. Ideas? I'd like to meet Ashleigh if possible, but it won't really be worth it if I have to go alone and pay for a hotel that night.
-
@therealscoutaloo !vancouverbronies We're actually overfull now, but still taking names for the waiting list. I think we've got our fair share of sub-Plat players, though we do have plenty of Diamond and Master level people too. You never know what level of opponent you'll get. For example, in the first one, I faced sub-Master people until the semis, whereupon I got stomped by a high Master Protoss that ended up taking the whole thing. It was a lot of fun either way.
-
!vancouverbronies @echron1000 Holdom was bowling IIRC.
-
@therealscoutaloo !vancouverbronies Make an account on Team Liquid and check us out! Last tournament had 30 or so people and our limit this time is 64.
-
!vancouverbronies So...any of you guys play StarCraft? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grQNZjW-Bx4
-
@theawesomepinkpony None of them! I am the hardest gym leader.
-
@theawesomepinkpony <3 I have 10 badges.
-
!vancouverbronies Depending on what kind of get together we can come up with (and if I can find a couch to sleep on) I'll most likely be down for the concert (and drinks afterward =p).

!vancouverbronies Everfree Northwest, you say? https://docs.google.com/document/d/1opkvInKWMQtaMNHW57K-hCnM4MYnCDp6FySlpbtccd0/edit?hl=en_GB&pli=1

!vancouverbronies If you want another meetup video on EqD for this one, then somepony else will have to take up my mantle, as I'm unable to make it. Hopefully I can be around for the next one!

!vancouverbronies @echron1000 I see. So that begs the question: will there still be "actual" meetups every few weeks?
-
!vancouverbronies Okay, my stance on the whole meetup thing, hopefully a little more fleshed out. Pros to weekly meetups: we get to see each other more often. Cons: there are only so many places to hang out, so we'd probably end up needing to stick to 1-3 different places, so it could honestly get a little stale, especially if they lack proper structure. We likely won't be able to do something like bowling or whatever on a weekly basis, due to cost (and I certainly can't afford more than 1-2 Vancouver trips a month, but that's irrelivent in the big picture). In my limited experience, meetups that aren't booze-oriented are best-suited for actual venues with some infrastructure, such as the bowling meetup on October 30th. I'm really not sold on the whole meetups at houses thing unless we plan on getting mangoesed. Please don't take this as gospel either; I'm just stating my opinion on this. Please note that I'd still be of the "monthly over weekly meetups" position if I lived in Van.
-
!vancouverbronies I honestly prefer meetups to be a monthly thing, that way they're more "special" and we can do stuff like go bowling or whatever, but that's just me.
