  11. @koen Nope. But I've noticed it tends to boot a lot slower if I do.

  14. @koen The iPad basically does everything the iPod does better. It's just up to you whether or not you see those improvements as worth the extra money. The bigger screen makes everything worlds easier and changes the interaction model around a lot in a bunch of subtle ways.

  15. @koen 93mhz? Cripes... a simpler time... my laptop is fundamentally faulty, I think, too. the screen is slowly being consumed by white bars. Its not like I've dropped it or knocked it hard or anything... (sigh) anyhoo...

  16. @koen Yeah, it took about 4 months from mine to go from 2 hours (twas cheap, I confess) to around 25 minutes.

  19. @purplephish20 @koen I'd imagine the average age is between 15-20. Guesstimate.

  20. @koen Why? I'm 18, wonder what the average age is...

  21. @koen That's why I don't have BF3 yet, and why I only got Forza last week, even though I'm super interested in both of them.

  22. @koen I haven't played that... but the general consensus from folk seems to be a profoundly disappointed one... what was the deal with anyhoo?

Tuesday, 08-Nov-11 11:46:23 UTC from web in context
  23. @koen Same deal with a lot of things, I find. I regret pre-ordering the last Radiohead album, tbh.

  24. @koen I use emulators myself... if you get a decent gamepad, I think its a fair enough approximation. I was referring to the Wii virtual console, though... I think a fair few SNES games have been ported across. Also, there's a 'Link to the Past' remake planned for the 3DS, which is pretty sweet!

  25. @koen Oh... I thought you were proffering an alternative to 'all that jazz'. 'All that pop'... I like it!

Monday, 07-Nov-11 11:23:52 UTC from web in context
  26. @koen I was kidding, but still... its a new generation. Fortunately, a lot of the best stuff seems to be available through that virtual console malarkey.

  29. @koen Here's what I do to study, and when it's crunch time at work: http://www.focusboosterapp.com/. Close everything except the stuff you need to study. Start the timer. Study for 25 minutes. Do what you want for 5. Repeat. I also tend to use "distraction free" editors like writemonkey for taking notes. They just fill the whole screen with an old-school black and green text editor and block out all distractions so you can take notes from books and the like.

  30. @koen There's a couple of things that helped me... I made sure my workspace was clean of clutter and visual distractions... Its amazing how much a desk covered in stuff can actually lead your mind off the scent from time to time. Also, you could set specific, achievable targets that you can have a break after. Just a couple of pointers.
