@wollffey Apologies, wollffey. I didn't mean for that statement to apply to the whole fandom. What I meant was that I don't know where people in the fandom go to talk, because the places I tried (ponychan and Equestria Daily) I was ignored due to all the other fast-paced conversations going on. But it did sound like I was insulting the fandom, and I'm very sorry for that. I did check bronies.com, but the closest groups to me are still too far for me to attend, so what I'm trying to figure out is how to start at the very beginning with a local group.

@wollffey Very good advice, wollffey! Though I may disagree about ponychan. So far the only people to respond there have been us and your boyfriend. The place has become too insular, in my opinion. @generalzoi A suitable venue can pretty much be any neutral meeting ground. Right now me and others are setting up a picnic for labor-day weekend. It's just got to be a place that can accomodate as many people as would be willing to come. The timing is also important because you have to arrange for when a maximum amount of people in your region can actually have the spare time to do whatever it is you've planned. Another factor is cost; places that allow for big meetings can sometimes have a reservation cost attached. There's other things but this alone should get you started. Once you get some others interested you can brainstorm with them. My original idea was just to see if any Tampa bronies wanted free pizza. After collabing with wollffey here, it turned into something bigger.

@wollffey !centralflbronies The reservation checks are in the mail, all that's left is to await confirmation from the park officials.

@wollffey Pony Eurobeat whilst thrashing my car around country lanes, late at night with the windows down.
-
@wollffey I love your avatar.

@wollffey (From www.fnord.org/occult/discordia/text/what.is.fnord ...) "Fnord is why ducks eat trees."
-
@wollffey interesting. Very interesting.
-
@wollffey we should make her into a burger actually, then she would have a use.
-
@wollffey hot damn
-
@wollffey dat a flutter burger?
-
!centralflbronies @wollffey No worries, the pavilion I've rented out can seat about 30 and has 3 grills. As soon as I drop the checks and forms in the mail, we're good for September 3rd at the Hillsborough River State Park, Pavilion 3.
-
@wollffey PMs being that inbox thing.
-
@wollffey Sounds good to me. I'd like to reserve the pavilions because they have barbecue grills and I plan to cook up some good char siu pork for everyone. Also, check your PMs.
-
@wollffey Well I don't think everyone will want to swim but I can still cover the charges if they do. I see there's a pavilion to rent for 50 or 80 bucks but I don't see where the pool is. I can definitely cover pavilion rental if need be.
-
@wollffey So lemme get this straight: We can picnic by the river and swim in it and it costs nothing or we can use the pool for 4 bucks.
-
@wollffey I think I can cover that. Is that per person or what?
-
@wollffey Good to hear about the interview! Unfortunately I couldn't put the facebook link into the forums because they seem to have broken. I now get an error page that says the servers or the IP config has changed. So I'll post it to ponychan if you haven't already and I'll send a link to Seth.
-
@wollffey Actually I don't use facebook so I can't access it... btw, did either of us submit it to EQD?
-
@wollffey Also good luck on your interview.
-
@wollffey Alright then, we'll pick up this convo once we've gotten some feedback.
-
@wollffey Sounds good to me. I even thought up a name for the event: The Rain Rain Go Away, Tampa Bay, Labor Day, What The Hay, Pony Party Picnic!
-
@wollffey Well since I'm not very knowledgeable about the Tampa area itself, I found this: http://www.tampa-attractions.com/tampa-parks-and-recreation.html Which of those do you think would be best for a covered picnic?
-
@wollffey Well if we're going the labor-day route, how about a picnic? Though I don't think I could spring for a whole picnic, if we made it a pot-luck or something I could certainly bring some stuff.
-
@wollffey Ah, well we can do that. What do you propose as a good time-frame? Also the where is important as well.
-
@wollffey How bout this weekend then? Time's not a factor for me either, though I prefer the afternoons and evenings.
-
@wollffey !centralflbronies Well what's good for you guys? Next week I'm more or less free unless I get a job offer.
