@purplephish20 Dresses and shirts are the only models in that game though, it's just a bunch of different textures, that's a LOT less memory usage.

@purplephish20 That's why i said "of one type". IE there's a dress mesh, a t-shirt mesh, etc, but each individual item does not have its own mesh.

@mrmattimation @scoot @purplephish20 In addition to this, I (think) the all clothing of one type in Animal Crossing use the same mesh, just retextured, whereas I'm pretty sure in Pokemon it's all a different mesh.

@purplephish20 Nobody is going to let you cut back on scenery to make space for that feature, it's just not what producers want to see. I'm just glad that they allowed people to change their outfits at all

@scoot @purplephish20 Yeah, in Animal Crossing everybody has the same general body shape so the clothes don't have to be re-modeled to fit the mesh. Honestly, Game Freak probably didn't even think about it.

@purplephish20 That is a mistake on Nintendo's part, but I assume that it requires more modelling than it does in Animal Crossing, since girls have a different figure to the males, which effectively doubles the memory usage for clothes
